Matteo Guendouzi

He’s a powerhouse midfielder

Why would they say half league game? Is the match going on?

French are just weird with numbers. Have you seen how they say 90?

Probably not a world beater and certainly has some negatives, but he and AMN would have been useful this year and maybe even gotten some serious minutes. No issues with Sambi, but this is another example of fiddling with squad that seems kind of tinkerman stuff.

It should be Sambi and Guendouzi as our future pairing. We have all seen it happen before when a young promising player makes a change to the PL and they look bright early but fade later in the season. It’s a learning curve it’s not an easy league to play in especially for young players. I like Sambi too but he’s got some developing to do. Guendo was always pretty damn good in an Arsenal shirt but he’s clearly improved even more on loan the past few seasons.

As far as Guendos future here there’s been conflicting reports. Hoping Arteta can mature and learn from his past mistakes and try to reconcile with a player he’s formerly banished. If we can in fact keep Guendo it would be a massive boost especially if we are in Europe next season. Don’t have to spend money and get a quality player in midfield. Let’s be honest if you are trying to buy a young French midfielder who just started playing regularly for France (who also keeps Caqueret on the bench the guy everyone in here was jizzing over from a 2 minute compilation video lmaoo) it’s costing you upwards of 35m most likely.

Guendouzi has 1 league goal and 0 league assists when playing in a double pivot this year, which he has done less and less frequently. He is getting goals and assists because he is most frequently playing either as one of twin 10s behind the striker or as the most adventurous midfielder in a 4-3-3.

Sampaoli is an adventurous manager known for playing high risk football and even he has decided that Guendouzi as part of a double pivot can’t be a regular thing.

If we brought Guendouzi back, it would realistically be him or Odegaard in the side.

You guys should stop dreaming about Guendonzi & Saliba coming back. It’s not happening.

100% Guendouzi won’t be coming back.

Saliba…well I’d look at Arsenal now and give us a big no thanks. He probably and rightfully thinks he’s got it in him to play for a bigger better club.

He would be in his second last year of the contract. He can lay it straight to Arsenal that he isn’t signing a new contract. if a big club comes in, Arsenal will be compelled to sell.

Caqueret is definitely going for sums similar to what Lyon were asking for Aouar when he was balling for them a couple of years back.

Can see him being the next export to one of the bigger European teams.

I feel like our next midfielder will have to have some sort of ‘presence’ so players like Caqueret (smol) will most likely be overlooked.

Think he’s going to be world-class. Just not at Arsenal.

He can be great for a team that allows him the freedom to play his way. He’d be nice to have as another option for us but I also see why he probably wouldn’t ever reach his full potential here.

Doubt it

I’m convinced that this isn’t one we’re going to regret from a football perspective. I have every reason to be bias towards him because he’s part Moroccan but I really think he’s nothing special.

I am willing to bet that he will be sold in summer

This news pisses me off. He’s going to be very, very good.

In that dead league, absolutely.

Messi is finding it harder than La Liga, not really a dead league.
Or La Liga is also dead, which is also a valid debate to be had.
