Mansfield Town Vs Arsenal (FA Cup) 1-2

Certainly seems like our performances scale to the level of opposition we’re facing lol.

We honestly should have scored at least half a dozen goals today.

My main criticism is that we should have fielded a stronger sttarting XI, kill the game and then turn the engines off in the second half.

Don’t think we exerted too much energy, hopefully Trossard and Calafiori are fine to play next week.

Disagree. Thought they were Mansfield’s best players.

The pitch was awful, also on a different day we’d have pummeled these lot. We move on to the quarters.

Away to a lower league, with a shit pitch, in the FA Cup. That’s exactly the type of game I was expecting, from both sides.

Thought Mansfield could be proud of their effort today, that was a good showing for a struggling League One team.

Nah. Was just about minutes on the pitch for him

Fair play to Mansfield. Honestly our entire team looked like they took this one way too easy. Overall just happy to get the win and get the fuck out of there.

On we go!

Mansfield played well. Good FA Cup match.

Resp3ct to the guys who could watch the entire 90 minutes of that shite.

Onto the next round. We move.

Nothing concerning about the first two. They’ve just come back from serious knee injuries that saw one out for almost a year and the other for half.
You genuinely can’t blame them for taking it easy in that mud pit.

For Martinelli I hear it.

You know you’re playing lower league when one of their players got the mullet/moustache combo

Nah, that trio very concerning performances :pires2:

I honestly thought I was going to get fingered when I saw him come on.

Not concerned at all by either of the three tbh. It’s Mansfield.

How Trossard has escaped any criticism is beyond me

Not concerned about Kai. With Martinelli, only concern is how shit he is but that isn’t really something new.

After that slip in the first half he was checked out. He had no interest playing anymore and actively joined Jesus snad Havertz hiding.

Bit of a pussy move to be honest. Ok, you don’t want to be involved, at least wait till HT.

I could write a thesis on that match.
Mansfield showed what a leveller playing a simple game can be. Credit to them, they gave the sort of performance you’d expect from a team of lads who go down the pub together.

We saw three players who won’t be here next season. Jesus, passenger, Martinelli frustrating and Trossard because we need someone on his level who can play for 90 minutes.

Salmon very good maybe the occasion got to him though. Promising from Dowman, he’s got a good motor on him as well as superb close control. Eze, Timber and Hincape brought us a little more control. I like the look of Dixon, good frame and body language, looks like he knows he belongs here. If Calafiori is out for a month we may see more of him.

Not one of our players went out there thinking “It’s only Mansfield” but the brain doesn’t tell us everything, the sub-conscious moderation of adrenaline can mean players find that they’re not as sharp as usual. That’s why you play simple football in games like this.

Me too. It would have the word dogshit 354643433 times and that’s being conservative with it’s use.

Had to miss the game. I read we picked up injuries, to who and did they look serious?
