Manchester United

its dumb decisions like Onana that compounds their situation as well. Imagine knowing you are going for him and not bothering to get him when he was going for nothing. They then spend flipping £50m on him and getting rid of De Gea without a fee and then find out they were far better of with De Gea.

I really hope not

I think the government is funding the regeneration project in the area? United is funding the stadium. (Interested to see how they ‘fund’ this given they indirectly suggest their broke?)

I suppose a question to be asked is if that wasn’t happening would they go through with the stadium?

United have seemingly already been briefing that the stadium cost might impact player investment, similar to our move to the Emirates and Spurs’ move to the toilet bowl. So I assume they are paying for the stadium.

Didn’t we have to liaise/work with Islington Borough Council when building Ashburton? I’m sure IBC cover some of the cost of the local infrastructure/social housing in the area which is also likely what is happening with whatever the council equivalent is in Manchester.

Makes sense given that it’s a business pulling in revenue and the local council pull an expense out of it.

I believe united (or the glazers if you prefer) own a huge amount of the land adjacent to the stadium where all this will be built. There will no doubt be investment vehicles and construction companies set up with much the same ownership as United.

I have a feeling this will set United back even further just like Emirates did to Arsenal. Atleast I hope so.
