I might just be protecting here, but I get the feeling that they probably weren’t all that worried seeing us lead the league for like 90% of the season.
They’re just fucking ridiculous at the business end of the season, you’ve got to be near perfect to win the league these days.
Look at the bright side, this may relax their players a bit a next season. I’m sure guys like Haaland have no intention of slowing down anytime soon but I do feel this kinda wraps it up for KdB, Gundogan, Silva, Walker, etc.
The good ol’ big ears trophy is the one thing they were missing to to solidify them as one of the best teams ever.
I do have a feeling though Pep won’t relax just yet. Pretty positive he’s still as ruthless as ever and is probably urging the City higher ups to invest in the summer for a mini revamp.
I would hope in any case, we’re there to fight them.
Firstly Man City see pretty much flawless. They are so hard to even get a draw against, let alone beat. They have had a great season like us.
If they have been doing dogey stuff though and have breached many rules, then they need the book thrown at them hard just like it would happen to any other club. Other clubs would likely expect a points deduction and an embargo. When I look at other punishments this season, some clubs have received harsh ones for small breaches so I expect their punishment to be massive. That’s if they are guilty of the breaches etc. if they were to somehow get away with it, then I really don’t see the point anymore. What’s the point in trying compete just to be cheated by a club that’s not playing to the rules? Their history of winning leads to future success due to financial boosts and a trophy magnet for players. Even now their success is a result of the last 10 years or so - so it should be stripped up u til the present day. I know that’s reasonable but I’m sure it won’t be reasonable and we will see a light tap on the wrist and a small fine or something daft. That’s if they have been corrupt - we will have to see what the outcome is.
The ideal situation would be for Man City to lose to Real Madrid and then Guardiola announce that he’s done all he can at Man City and wants to move to PSG.
That’s true.
His success was achieved with financial backing from the richest state and the Etihad and the Moon have got about the same amount of atmosphere.
Followed by Man City suing the authorities for 2 billion for defamation of character.
That money will then be spent on buying up the few world class players they haven’t got and new comfy seats for the couple of hundred season ticket holders they have managed to accumulate.
Sanctions on City assumes that higher instances of whatever authorities are following this case, are as upstanding and upright as they can be, I have no hope whatsoever for any kind of significant sanction, mere window dressing to ease up the tensions for a while and it’s back to square one.
