Yeah, the source is shite but I don’t see how Ekitike and Sesko are considered and not Delap who’s performing and hitting similar numbers for a relegation side in a much, much better league.
Mind you, I think Gyokeres is the most concrete choice based on what we heard and since then Gyokeres hasn’t done anything to diminish his case. The fact we’re now mainly being linked with wide forwards makes me think the Gyokeres deal could already be pretty advanced.
I reckon once we officially secure a CL spot we’re going to start hearing more about Zubimendi and Gyokeres again.

Yea if that’s the pitch its unlikely to be attractive but why wouldn’t he back himself to come to a club like this and make an impact?
He loses nothing doing a couple of seasons here and seeing if he can make it then settling for a villa or even Everton to be the main man if it doesn’t happen.

He’d be a starter here if Arteta will trust him.

I think he’d back himself to contribute but if we sign him and Gyökeres he’s gotta believe that Arteta is gonna roll with him 9/10 if fully fit, he’ll know how we don’t tend to rotate
I don’t think he’d jump for that if given a similar opportunity at United for example even if they’re shit especially if they secure CL football

Nah. Footballers dont just do the sums to come up with how many games they start as a defining factor in career moves at that age.
CL football or not United is a terrible move for a player like him. You’re as likely to ruin your career as make it there right now.
He wouldn’t be dumping anything by joining The Arsenal. You’ve just got a shit on us at all costs attitude right now but it’s not how those in the game will view this club at all.

Equally I don’t know why my view is unreasonable. He’s shown what he can do, it’s brought interest, he’ll want to take the next logical step. That could easily be here.
Next logical step to hold bench isn’t so logical from his point of view especially when he’s already left a top club for game time before

Tbf £30m is an absolute steal, let alone for a young English striker. I could certainly get behind this move given the fee involved and the age/profile of the player. Hats off to @GC-Maniac who was ahead of all of us by suggesting him as a possible target in the summer.
