I really rate Trossard, but he doesn’t really fit our style as a wide player.
Impact sub and cf option is probably his future here. He is talented enough to start though.
He just isn’t a wide player really, always plays a lot better centrally or as a sub.

Exactly this. He’s not a winger. He’s technical but doesn’t have the skill or pace to take on players. He’s got two good feet and a good enough shot on him. He’s most productive playing up front.
Players like him, Jorginho, Zinchenko cannot play every game cause they just aren’t effective against all oppositions.

He has the “skills”, but not the speed
If he had pace he would be a different player. Few times Ramsdale kicked or threw it quickly to him but he didn’t have the speed to get away

I think he is just prone to these kinds of performances. Nothing against the type of forward he is at all. He had dips like this last season and earlier this season too.
He’s a situational player for us now and if Martinelli was fit, I think he would have played instead.

Not a winger, but a great little nifty technician to have. And he scored a crucial goal, so no complaints here.

Cold hearted finisher. Create him a big chance in a big game and he converts. Every squad that goes on to win the big ones needs these crucial contributions from players that can be in and out of the team.

I was actually thinking just before he scored at what point we should be replacing him. He isn’t that great out on the wing but he is always a goal threat. Great finish.
