He didn’t look healthy from the minute he came back.
Trosssard should be an impact sub moving forward, he only scores bangers, so we should use him as such
I’m not sure how much of a winger he is. I like him in the central areas more than on the left.
He did find himself more central yesterday. He essentially occupied the space our left 8 usually does.
I found the choice of him playing essentially us saying that we won’t bother with Walker.
Not much really.
I’m pretty sure he would do much more damage in Kai’s role, playing between the winger and the striker.
He just doesn’t have the required athleticism to cover for Martinelli or Saka. He’s probably a better alternative for Ode than for those two (Ode would do a better job on the wing than him too).
This reminds me of Cazorla and that season (when Ozil just joined) where he was mostly used on the wing and he was mostly shit, and it took a while before he was shifted to the middle and started producing the goods.
Trossard is a bit like Cazorla’s more attacking version.
Not worried about Tross in the slightest. He’s an absolute baller. When fully fit, he is undoubtedly starting quality.
It wasn’t long ago that we were thinking somebody should be dropped to accommodate him.
Seems like he’s not fully fit. Looks a bit laboured on the ball and not his usual zingy, bright self.
Hopefully the injury is not too bad and he’s available again soon. Hamstring injuries are usually 4-6 weeks though. Lucky that the international break swallow 2 of those weeks.
I think Trossard is a really clinical player in finishing and creating chances. But he relies on the team getting him into threatening positions in the final third as opposed to just completely bodying a full back.
He’ll always be useful for that end product though and very flexible in where we can play him.
didn’t he get like 7 assists in his first 10 games or something. pretty sure he creates for others fairly well.
Agreed. He’s not a winger. His technical ability and cuteness on the ball aren’t for the wings. He’s go to be close to the box, where he can make things happen, find space with some piece of skill, get out of tight situations and create/score.
Yes, making our left wing absolutely non-existent, not that he’d get much joy out of Walker.
I think Leo is best used as a sub. I don’t see him starting over any of Saka, Jesus or Martinelli when they’re fit. Yes, if we are struggling and one of them isn’t making an impact, Leo would be an excellent player to bring on. He’s definitely an asset but am not sure he’s done enough to displace the front 3 at the moment.
I thought he looked really composed on the ball tbh. Not sure where he was poor? He’s not a runner in behind. His close control and how he’s able to cut inside and seamlessly add to our central creativity is a breath of fresh air. Coped with Walkers pressure no problem. Fantastic player and very unlucky to come off when Eddie added nothing really.
well rested, Leandro.
Many were advocating for Martinelli to be dropped lol
oh no
fuck get well soon, necromancer. can’t afford our wide guys being out like this for much longer probably.
What. A. Finish.
Arteta was right about his impact from the bench. Beginning to be one of Arsenal’s best impact subs?
Our very own Solskjaer?
So clinical. That wasn’t an easy finish at all.
Just rewatched that finish in slo-mo. So fucking cool.
Super sub…
Keep him healthy we can get 20 minutes from him every game
He’s improved his off the ball work a lot in his recent appearances. Very good to see. One of the few weaknesses in his game that’s really important for Arteta.
