Think it’s the right call if we are looking to move him on, especially with Eze possibly coming in.
Been a cracking signing for what we paid and given us two and half years, but sometimes things just need a freshening up.

If we can sell around 20m euro we should do it. I think he probably wants the move because he hasn’t made much money in his career and this is his last chance to get a fat wedge for 2-3 years in Turkey or Saudi.
The big question for me is whether this plus our other outgoings leaves us comfortable enough financially to get Rodrygo and Eze. I would think so but you never know.
Want him sold ideally but only in a 35-40m deal to Saudi.
15-20m feels like a waste of time, can’t get such a versatile player to help us for that price. Even if we sign a LW he can be a useful backup in 3/4 spots.

I think the club went into the window without really prioritising a LW.
I think their main plan was a striker(Gyokeres/Sesko) and a right winger.
I think that’s why the club was interested in Sane and Mbeumo, made enquiries about Kudus and then landed on Madueke.
I think their left winger pursuit was always gonna be opportunistic for someone like Rodrygo or Williams, IF they were to became available.
I think this Eze deal is purely reactive to Trossard looking to go and it will wrap up our business for the summer.
