I work my absolute ass off, I’m essentially on call 16-18 hours a day if you factor in the constant email enquiries, the invoicing, chasing for payment, canvassing for new work/clients, keeping up with social media content and all that before I’ve even actually done the physical work side of it.
It’s a load of bollocks and self employment isn’t the carrot it used to be.

Labour have come in with a wrecking ball…
They hide behind Lizz Truss and Tories, but the reality is they are doing an even worse job. There is no incentive for business. You are effectively punished for being an entrepreneur/small business, when it should be encouraged.
I have had to just go through VAT registration, the registration was signed off on 1 October, but they backdated the VAT registration date to June 2024!!! I have appealed and been told that the date is the date! In fact I was told you can write a letter but it wont change. I have spoken to Accountants for advice and been told essentially this is what HMRC do and they won’t change the dates! I am fortunate in that my invoices are 95% to banks and they have all agreed that I can re-invoice them + VAT and they will pay the VAT, otherwise my invoices since June last year would all be deemed VAT inclusive and I would be liable for the VAT - add to that my first VAT return will is due 7 November, so would face penalties if I dont do the return and pay over the VAT by that date.
I can see no light at the end of the tunnel either with Labour in charge and whoever replaces them is likely equally incompetent in their own way.

They’re trying to distract from the fact that this happened in a number of Labour councils while also trying not to alienate their Muslim voter base which they can’t afford to do.
Phillips was 600 votes from losing her seat to a Gaza MP so I guess she’s going to try and do everything she can to change the optics and narrative regarding this grooming gang scandal.

They don’t see small business’s as a way to keep the countries economy going they just see them as a smash and grab cash cow.
The raising of corporation tax a few years ago from 19 to 25%, who did that really hit?

SNP looks like they will get a 5th consecutive term in government here in the 2026 Scottish Parliament election.
In 2024 when Labour got in London this was on a shaky nail for them but the nails been hammered in again by Labour themselves

It’s not just Starmer, Labour have got no one in the cabinet that has any charisma or vision and instead they’re just like a bunch of clueless politicians acting like students who’ve been given a project to run the country.
To make it worse, Labour seem to despise the working class, who were the very people they were originally set up to help but are focusing more on the liberal elite.
Labour will lose the next election by the same landslide they won the last election and it serves them right.

You have to wonder what the fuck they’re thinking really. Not even a third of their way through thier first term in years and they’ve managed to fuck it up worse than most thought they would and that’s before you delve into the whole Isreal/Palestine problem. It’s as if they never really wanted it in the first place.

There’s no reason to complicate this.
This goes back to when they were guaranteed an election victory they had no need to fake their stances on issues and started slowly abandoning whatever positions they had at the time for convenience’s sake. Some thought this was some secret strategy ( lol ) but in reality what we saw is what we got a party that believes in nothing and goes wherever the wind is blowing.
Expect them to start saying leftist stuff now that Greens moving up in the world and are eating into their base. Then when Reform starts rising again they’ll say right-wing stuff. This style of political contortion people find really aggravating.
Also, while a lot of things have happened. The most telling thing was the smugness and smarminess around the timeframe of Lord Alli’s donations. While not a significant issue was telling about the culture surrounding the party as if they were preordained to enrich and enjoy unique privileges because they sit at the top of the political ladder. Same culture that I find detestable in the Tories.
While I said all that. There’s also an Occam’s razor explanation as well. They just suck.
