Well he’s played professionally so should know what it means to be a competitor.
Keep at it you namaste lookin boy.
Well, with the way he’s taken over from the old man and appointed Arteta, then backed him, I’m fully on board the hype train for the ride.
Connor Roy/Hunter Biden hybrid.
“He may be the son of an evil billionaire, but he’s our son of an evil billionaire.”
Conor Roy was a delusional moron and Hunter Biden is a crack smocking fuckboy.
Only in appearance, I might add.
I’m excited!
I don’t really know what this might mean but I reflexively do not like it.
Idk a stadium expansion is probably necessary.
60k to 75k is a huge expansion. I don’t know if I believe that.
There has always been a theory that the seats at the emirates are oversized and reducing them long term will increase capacity without actually otherwise changing the stadium. Not sure that stands up to any scrutiny regrading fire certs or stuff like that but the seats are definitely bigger than other stadiums ive been in.
Who are they buying the Emirates off of?
Cant be Arsenal surely
Always thought the seats were luxuriously large. Been to places like Selhurst Park where you can barely get one cheek on a seat in the away end.
I like this theory lol
I went on a tour of the Emirates very soon after it opened and I remember the guide saying it was designed with a possible future expansion in mind.
Surprised it’s taken almost 20 years for this expansion. 60k seater always felt small when it first opened. Whilst we were at 38.5k at Highbury… I thought our new stadium would’ve have at least similar numbers to Man Utd.
Islington Council, a true enemy of progress.
I thought we couldn’t expand because off the transport infrastructure around the ground. Which is why the stadium was set at 60k
I knew one of the Architects who helped designed the stadium. There was some thought to future expansion…but defo disagree with @shamrockgooner about the seats…I’m not sure I can squeeze into a smaller seat tbh!
There’s no indication this position has changed, but equally they haven’t applied for an increase either so we don’t really know the council’s current position.
Overground wasnt about when planning was granted right? And the new Picadilly trains that roll out next year will also increase capacity.
There are also measures like keeping the bars open longer that could contribute here. If its feasible we’ll possibly see movement on it within the next 12 months.
You can disagree if you like but my point is those seats are bigger than seats ive sat in in other stadiums. Or concert venues. Or cinemas.
