The likes of a season like the way this one’s been structured is always going to be a problem for a player like him.
Have to be careful and start thinking of next season long term training plan for him.
The League is over and pointless flogging him for no reason.
What’s happening at Arsenal is beyond luck, numerous players with no injury record before joining us fail to stay fit for a sustained period of time.
He is too soft. Real men dont get injured. Really disappointed in him tbf.
While this is tongue-in-cheek, there was an element of truth about this in the past.
Phil Neal of Liverpool had the greatest number of continuous appearances before Lampard overtook him recently while playing for Chelsea. One thing Neal said that was when a player went away from the team with an injury, they’d almost be like lepers and would be shunned from the rest of the group. Hence, players would fight through the pain barrier to not declare an injury.
I don’t think Tierney falls into the category of someone over-exaggerating an injury, but there are some classic “sick note” players about
He has a recurring hip injury stemming from his Celtic days no?
Transfer market has him down as not being available for Celtic for around 45 games
Always has been really. I’d put Trevor Francis in that category.
Immense talent but a bit fair weather. Done well at Forest but found an excuse to leave when Forest was made for him. Didn’t want too work hard enough for Clough and it was too his own detriment in the end.
Sorry, but he is clearly a pussy. Weak mentality to just being constantly injured.
His last season (18/9) he missed a lot of the season due to that hip injury but before that he was pretty much playing every game
Tierney’s issues rise from being relied upon heavily from a young age in conjunction with his physical and energetic style.
Those players also played at snail pace
Wow. Can only imagine how supportive they’d be if one of their teammates was dealing with depression or an addiction issue. Gotta love boomer masculinity standards.
1970s Liverpool pressed intensely
Yeah because hashtag campaigns on social media are so more sincere aren’t they.

It was a different age back then, mate. To be honest, men are pretty much the same as they were back then. They won’t visit the doctors, they won’t tackle their problems head on.
I’m not saying what Phil Neal et al did was right, just simply giving an insight into the culture back then

1970s Liverpool pressed intensely
Noted but the game has changed from yesteryears and current players do go through much more intense toll on their body.
Granted medical support is also enhanced.
Tierney’s problem has been described as “discomfort in the right lower leg” and there are suggestions this could be related more to fatigue than something of greater concern. Given that scans are thought to have been clear, it is hoped he will not be out for long.
Ornstein’s Monday column.
He’s been played to much by Arteta
Hasnt been played too much at all. The bloke is clearly too soft and weak for the prem.
We have to be mindful he doesn’t have Roberston levels of endurance.
At this point I’d just be playing Tierney and Partey in the EL, the league is a dead duck.
He’s played like 1500 minutes this season and it’s February, if that’s too much then he cannot be first choice surely.
God damn it.
