Grit alone don’t mean anything, we had kola and Lich, and I haven’t seen more average fullbacks than those two here(Lich was past it anyway), hoping Tierney couples it with actual footballing ability, and it looks like that’ll be the case, his crosses were quality and effortless.

Was listening to the latest Guardian Football Weekly podcast and whilst talking about Liverpool the question was asked whether Robertson was the best LB in the world.
The answer that came back almost right away was “Tierney”.

Not been tested defensively yet in a tough fixture but the offensive output vs Kolasinač looks promising.
I also love that he’s come from a team that’s used to winning every week, even if it’s Sunday league level outside the old firm no offence meant ofc. I think he’ll be a senior dressing room figure by the end of the season, maybe as part of a bromance with Hector, Calum and Rob

Now we know Scottish football isn’t the highest level. One thing I’ve noticed in his interviews though is his pride in having played for Celtic.
If he brings that outlook and yeah I’ll say it passion to this club he’s very welcome.

He has played against PSG, Bayern, Manchester City and Barca in the CL groups tho. Think if I remember he even scored against City haha
They lost 7-1 to PSG, if that’s the measuring line then he failed lol
He did say that playing vs Neymar and Dani Alves down the right side was the toughest game in his career.

They also got hammered by the same score line off Barca. So at least he’ll be right at home here as we love getting embarrassed in Europe aswell

Good crossing game again but a little worrying early on. Needs to up that defensive side. A bit worrying his positioning on the first goal and was done a couple of times.
Tbf could see why he’d been left out of games. Probably going to have to except a bit of this getting to grips with the prem.

No question. Just my opinion and observation last night. Bit of an eye opener on the first how he got done and wasn’t really in the picture on the second.
To be clear want him in but think it’s going to be a learning curve for him.
