Sagna thrived in our old setup, he was the original tomiyasu in being so hard to beat and locking down his winger.

Don’t think there’s two fullbacks I’ve trusted more 1v1. Then we move to Calum chambers in the banter years, getting utterly roasted by montero.

Sagna was an absolute machine. Defensively astute, stamina of a horse, the goal line acrobatic clearances. Like you said, 1v1 good luck mate.

Feel like Sagna would have been a machine at RCB in a back three. Didn’t think he offered much that was impressive going forward but in 1v1s and as a pure defender he was an absolute machine.

He had a ridiculous leap as well. Often enough had some nasty landings because of it. Sometimes I’ve seen him land on his neck or head even and he’d just stand up and carry on.
