Mourinho’s first stint at Benfica:
Love him or hate him, can’t deny the fact that the man has earned it. He’s living off past glory now but those were some glory years.

His dismissal was definitely harsh and I think he ultimately ended up being caught in the line of fire of the Fener elections.
Still, bit ironic that the mighty Mourinho who used to criticise Wenger’s and Arsenal’s standards, big up a Turkish club as if they’re a big club, promise them glory, fail, and now resort to bigging up coaching Benfica.
Mourinho finding out it’s not so easy to rock up and win all the time. I’m not going to skate him as he’s been a quality coach but I think it’s time for him to become more humble.
He is undoubtedly one of the best of all time but it’s a surprise to me that clubs are still taking a chance on him.
It’s clear that he’s expensive and he just doesn’t move the needle anymore. He’s been a failure in most seasons of his career since that ill fated final season at Chelsea that got him sacked.

My dad brought this to my attention recently but I thought he was overreacting but it seems like there’s genuinely people who think Mourinho fixed that tie knowing he’ll take over Benfica, lol.
For me it’s indicative of how easily Mourinho burns his relationship.
Arteta is about to complete his 5th full season with Arsenal - Something Mourinho has never done in his career despite winning major trophies.

Funny story, thought I should mention it somewhere.
I randomly won a 26/1 bet on Mourinho going to Benfica.
Me and my dad were talking about football and out of curiosity I was checking the odds for Mourinho’s next club, they were no rumours out in the wild so we were just laughing at the clubs the bookies had him going to.
Last one was Benfica so I jokingly put £1 on it and forgot.
I haven’t been betting recently so I withdrew all my money out from the account.
I logged in the other day and to my surprise I didn’t see £0 as my balance.
Turns out I won that bet without even realising.

I am sure fans will laugh at the mention of workplace abuse since the footballers are paid in millions. But Mourinho’s treatment towards Mkhitaryan and Bastian Schweinsteiger should be unacceptable.
