Ive purposefully stuck my head in the sand and will be keeping it there for a while because there’s just too much noise around PLTR and too many people who want it to fail because they missed out on it haha
Yeah I’m the same, just plonk my head in now and again otherwise I have the capacity to become obsessed with the numbers
Palantir 76$ now, so overvalued but whatever, keep it coming
Palantir is like a big data company, right? Would it be fair to say they’re predominantly a defence contractor? I’ve seen that they do work with the US and UK militaries, but is that their primary function?
Essentially yes, they’re a big data/soft AI company.
They started out 20 years ago, Co-founded by Alex Karp and Peter Thiel. They also received funding from the CIA’s VC fund InQtel - with a lot of rumours flying around that Karp is a CIA asset among other PLTR leadership (he travels with armed bodyguards).
They started out servicing the clandestine authorities like the NSA, CIA, DHS etc. for the first 10-15 years and rumour has it that it was there data analysis software Gotham that allowed the CIA to track down Bin Laden.
They are the highest security cleared company in the world (in US terms), and only Amazon and Lockheed Martin are in the same bracket.
US Navy, Air Force, Army, Danish Police, UK Police etc. are all customers and currently about 60% of their business are big government contracts but not just in policing and defence - the NHS are a big customer for example. That’s down from about 100% of contracts a few years ago, which is partially why the company’s share price is doing so well - they’ve shown huge commercial sector growth in the last 12-18 months and have clients like 3M, Rio Tinto, Home Depot, Alliance Healthcare etc.
They’re in every industry and every sector, and their software is extremely sticky because of how useful and efficient it is (but also how tricky it is to integrate).
Essentially PLTR plugs itself into a company, and by integrating its software like Gotham or Foundry into the digital infrastructure of a company it’s able to order and structure ALL OF THEIR DATA and make it easier to work with and understand than any other company out there.
Here’s a visual that might help:
Unsurprisingly they’re not very open about how their technology really works because it’s so classified and so unique, so actually a lot of people don’t truly understand how it works but there are some great videos on YouTube from Palantir that break it down like these ones:
Philosophically, Alex Karp is VERY hawkish on Russia, China, Iran etc. He is driven by the belief that the very foundation of the free world’s democratic values are under attack and that the driving mission of Palantir is to be an integral part of defending that democracy and freedom.
The PLTR leadership are all huge lord of the rings nerds. Palantir is obviously named after the Palantir. Peter Thiel’s VC fund is Mithril Capital, and a leading drone company started by an early stage PLTR employee is named Anduril.
Also it should be noted that JD Vance is a Peter Thiel puppet - Thiel has funded Trump for years and it’s widely known that the support and funding of Thiel was dependent on JD Vance coming in as VP.
Thiel and Musk obviously know each other from their Paypal days, and Trump is apparently considering PLTR’s CTO to become the “CTO” of the Pentagon.
So there’s a lot of chatter going that with PLTR’s connections to the new administration they may become even more heavily integrated in the US Govt. apparatus.
Full disclosure I invested heavily in PLTR back in 2020 with a cost average of $13, sold a few months later at $26 in 2021, bought back in immediately at $28 because I got FOMO and then rode it all the way up to $45 and then rode it all the way down to $6 where it languished until well into 2022/23 and then its grown exponentially since then - I think we’re looking at like 300% YOY. I managed to buy enough on the way down to get my average to about $21 - I’ve got several hundred shares but I’m done buying I think, it’s like 50% of my portfolio.
I believe PLTR is a company that is going to absolutely revolutionise every industry and every company it touches, and I believe that it’ll have a similar stock trajectory to TSLA and NVDA but right now it is INSANELY overvalued - and that’s an understatement.
Everyone is buying it because they believe it’s outsized future potential and its links to the Trump administration not because of its fundamentals (revenue, profit etc.).
However it must be said that its commercial success has skyrocketed in the last year and it really is going from strength to strength, but all it’ll take is one earnings report in Feb that doesn’t go gang busters and we’ll see a huge retrace of like 20-25% I’m convinced of it.
Me devilishly hoping that happens
Taken enough profit at the top, unfortunately it’s time for some people to lose and present us another buying opp.
Fuck yea cant wait for my flying car.
Well, that absolutely surpassed the expectations I had for any reply I might receive haha, thanks for that
Did you read it all though
Hahaha you’re welcome, I’ve been following the company for a while so always happy to inform people when I can

The planter tank begins, dropped like a stone from 82 highs yesterday to 71 $ today.
My 3 biggest ones ( Palantir, Soundhound and Nvidia) are all down today.
Everything is down today, not just Palantir. Even bitcoin is down lol
I’d be surprised if the tank starts now given the insane level of institutional buying we’ll see if QQQ inclusion happens on Thursday.
@Starboy those highs were pre-market, which mean absolutely nothing.
If there’s really going to be a proper correction, it’ll be on Thursday if PLTR isn’t included in the QQQ.
-5% barely registers as a correction for OG holders like myself who remember the days of -15-20% on the back of good news
I know I was just joking
Tesla et al were down about the same when I made the post. Haven’t checked if any started to rebound already, but rather they drop and hit my price alerts so I can buy more.
Thank god we’re out of that cycle of consistent good news resulting in drops though, that was annoying af
I do love that a little drop weeds out all the prats though, the ones that bought high and then whose bum holes drop out because they obviously shouldn’t be putting their money in these places without fully understanding what’s going on
Same fuckers that lost money on this Hawk Tuah shit coin.
PLTR added to the QQQ/Nasdaq 100.
Could go gangbusters on Monday, but may still be a volatile week with a lot of profit taking.
Show me 100$
