Saw someone on twitter float the idea of a keeper bouncing it off his teammates head to restart the clock.
I really hope we’re the first to try it

That’s got Ben White written all over it.
We’re going to see a lot of keepers pull-up with injuries if they have no options to pass to. Kick it out towards to opposite corner then go down with something the physio can treat and magically make better.
Surely in this circumstance it would be a drop ball for the opposition, and technically they could choose to keep possession?
Also, the rule about needing to go off the field if you have to get treatment… Assume that doesn’t apply to goalkeepers? Be hilarious if it did
Used to be 5 seconds and max 3 steps with the ball in hand. In 97 (if I remember correctly) it was changed to 10 seconds and as many steps you wish inside the penalty box. I remember having a big argument with a referee about this during a game that season. He said I took too many steps, he did not acknowledge the new rule and gave an indirect free kick to the other team. I also got a yellow for protesting. A few weeks later I met him, he was one of the teachers at the districts referee school He admitted his mistake then and I passed the course. Turned out he was a really great guy, but I could have killed him there and then during the game.
It would be hilarious.
The rule is different for goalkeeper injuries. It’s technically a drop-ball situation but given that uncontested drop-balls seem to be a thing now, the keeper might as well take a goal kick.
That’s what I think the common-sense approach is. Though the PGMOL and common-sense…
@Ocke You’ve described a perfect situation where over-thinking the rules causes resentment. Non-League Referees have to remember they the players are not so technically gifted, don’t spend all week training and maybe don’t have time to learn the annual raft (daft?) of rule changes.
Most of all, if you think you’ve made a mistake, let the captains know immediately. It nearly always defuses bad situations.
Should’ve forced him to be on Liverpool duty.
Doing this is ok if you’re Liverpool but just kicking the ball a few inches for Arsenal is a sending off.
What does one week mean?
Nothing.
The motherfucker still got paid and have a week of vacation.
Is this a punishment?
It looks like a reward to me.
Pleasantly surprised there’s not any outrage in here about the wall distance for Bruno’s goal yesterday.
Its completely on the players. Neville could spot it from the comm box ffs.
Probs cause our problems of late run far deeper than the wall acting like a bunch of goody two-shoes.
Or doing the slosh
It’s amusing the efforts Sky puts in to show how decisions that negatively impact Arsenal are correct…
Savinho, on a yellow, again clearly showing an imaginary yellow to the referree, no action.
If it’s an arsenal player you know what’s coming in that situation…
