Granit Xhaka

eh?

Lol I don’t think it’s that high.

Well I can assure you it is better than Morris vs. Everybody. The funny thing he isn’t doing anything differently than he was all those years ago and that’s why he’s failed. I’ve certainly been proven right over time so that fells fantastic.

“We will win nothing under Wenger”
“Wenger doesn’t do big signings”
This that. You spouted every negative thing there is pertaining Wenger and added some creative non sensical criticism as well.

But sure you were right.

Was embarrassing when you went into hiding when we won back to back FA cups.
Showed your priority.
You want Wenger out more than celebrating a club success.

You are not a football fan, you are a drama fan.

Each time Arsenal is doing well @morrisc311 disappears. And promptly appear when we are losing a single match.

We are all just punching bags for him, where he can throw his non sense at. General football discussion, what the fuck is that.

Bollocks really.
This board has always been moderate to pro WOB.
It’s not like I joined day before yesterday. Been here for more than 5 years now.

“moderate to pro WOB”. Here?!

Mwahaha, if only you knew!

It’s not really bollocks if he’s talking about a time more than 5 years ago that you’d know nothing about.

And Arsenal have been embarassingly shit for 5 years, so it’s not hard to see why people turned. And even 5 years ago most people on here were generally pro-Wenger. It’s only about 2 years ago I’d say more than 50% turned.

It took Chelsea fans 4 months to all turn on their chosen one and Liverpool fans gave up on Rafa over a year. I’d say Arsenal fans (including the ones on here) have been more than patient with this guy.

That is true.
We didn’t fly a plane over Emirates.

This is true

I defended AW all the way through the tough financial constraint era, then we win back to back FA cups and I’m saying to the Wenger out boys ‘see, we’ve turned the corner, we’ll kick on now’…

but in less than 2 years i’ve chan ged my mind - money has been there, had he found 3 or 4 world class players, epecially a DM and a striker we could have been flying by now.

I now want a new manager because this is just not working, it’s embarrassing the club & the fans and doing long term reputational damage. We are seen as losers, people openly talk about how cwe cannot attract players and we are losing ground.

Needs a change

Can’t believe you.
Your Amount of hate towards Wenger can’t come within 2 years of supporting Wenger.

Unless you have a rradicalmindset as ArseneCuellar

I think with the addition of Mustafi, the need for Xhaka to ‘sit deep’ isn’t so much a necessity in Wenger’s eyes. Although, as you guys above have mentioned (the one’s talking on topic!) I think there is a real need to play him deep, where he seems to have it down as an art. Replicating that Arteta/Ramsey fulcrum would be interesting now we have a fluid front line.

Going back to Mustafi, from what I’ve seen so far, he’s utilised as the ball-playing CB in that partnership and he does well in getting the ball up to the final third of the pitch. So Xhaka’s ‘deep’ position is, effectively, covered (in Wenger’s mind) so he tends to play him in a more advanced role than he’s used to. Which might play into he’s spiel about Xhaka ‘adjusting’ to the rigors of PL football, when actually, he’s using that as a buffer whilst Xhaka learns to be more adept to an advanced role in CM.

Long term, great, he learns more and develops as a player. But right now, without anyone at the back getting the ball through the lines, we’re stuck trying to build and once you go against a team that presses aggressively, we’ll concede eventually.

Last season was the end for me :pensive:

I could post links to comments I’ve made on other boards sonny but can’t be arsed and I won’t be called a liar by a little kid like you so shut it

It absolutely can. Because it’s only over the course of the last two seasons I’ve grown to oppose his management completely.

Anyone else think we should play 4-3-3 for at least some fixtures whilst he acclimatises?

The problem with losing Cazorla is that we’ve lost the guy that dribble from deep, escape congested areas of the pitch whilst still providing the DLP traits of playing through the lines.

Playing the same formation for every fixture with the personnel we have available is asking for trouble, Bayern will play three in the middle and if we turn up with our current formation we’re going to get swept it’s as simple as that.

If we played Özil out wide he wouldn’t have to hug the line, Hector could provide width when it suits and Coq could drop to back to cover, tired of our tactical rigidity particularly when playing tough away games.

He needs to imrpove his game a lot. He has not been that great as i expected.

Numbers and stats are saying the opposite, but I’m with you, Granit needs to show more to be considered the new Xabi Alonso.
