Yes, there was online abuse going on which is bad but it had absolutely nothing to do with fans at the ground. All he had to do was admit he acted like a dick to the fans and move on. Instead, I assume, he made his apologies behind the scenes to the coach, the club or whatever and then released that non-apology in the match day notes.
