This guy is just so flawed man. He is very good at what he does, but that’s such a specialised role.
Could be a decent kicker in the NFL or something.

I find it laughable that his best spell as a midfelder with us is coming during the time he has to basically play leftback to cover Saka.

I feel his best quality as a CM (lovely diagonal pingers/passing) aren’t something we necessarily need in this team, when you have the CB’s (namely Luiz, next, maybe Saliba) who have the scope to play a ball through the lines anyway. Having that totally bypasses Xhaka’s qualities that I think we certainly should be looking at a different profile of player.
I think he’s a lot more protected in Arteta’s system and he looks a better player for it and maybe that contributes to a better offer in the summer (if he leaves) for us? I think this DLP dream is outdated in the game now when we could do with a more mobile, technical player instead.

Slow of foot and mind in every respect. I don’t really buy into this revolution under Arteta either, I think he’s been good, but nothing special. I still look at his position as a bit of a weakness, his lack of mobility will cost us sooner or later against higher opposition. Shift him in summer, honestly it wouldn’t be hard to improve on him. Partey party.
