So you’re happy to take it as a given that he thinks priests raping kids is wrong, but I have to come out and explicitly condemn rape as a general act in order to participate in the thread. Ok, as long as it’s clear that I’m being held to a different standard than anyone else.
Feel free to send another inspipid “whataboutery” post my way by all means.
Why are you shitting on @mhappy to mask your own failings here?
You picked on the destruction of property first, then you picked out the sad child exploitation bastard who was “behind” the riots and only after a while you condemned the 4 man illegal immigrant rape of a minor. Even that was “goes without saying”.
Have you asked @mhappy what his views are on any specific case in the church? Cos I’m pretty certain he wouldn’t pussyfoot around it and make himself look a mug like you have here.
I agree with @Jules & @JakeyBoy up to a point. Yeah it’s terrible when anyone is noncing kids, yeah the protest was probably organised by a noncy fascist (I say probably because I haven’t looked into it), and yeah left and right have selective outrage over burning cop vans etc. I think the point that gets lost however is that this is an imported problem. People are on our streets without being properly checked like that migrant recently who killed someone in Bournmouth only to find he’d killed people before in Serbia and then lied about his age on his illegal entry into the UK and was put in a fucking secondary school. The point is these illegal migrants shouldn’t be here in the first place to nonce on kids. That’s it imo. The only issue of importance. Everything else is a waste of discussion.
This was a theme of my posting on the topic of the riot before anyone even mentioned the rape of a minor. A few posts above I said that I was highlighting the hypocrisy of right wing media pundits, and then when I mentioned it again, right wing people, who get super outraged about the destruction of property when it’s left wing protestors/rioters.
This was in response to the notion that the riot was borne from anger about the sexual exploitation of a child, and it is a perfectly valid response. It isn’t whataboutery, it’s a directly and undeniably relevant response to the claim I was responding to, and backs up my assertion that they’re only concerned about nonces who are foreign. As otherwise they’d be burning police cars and rioting when one of their own was a nonce, because child sexual abuse isn’t any less awful or harmful to a child based on where the person is from.
The point of bringing mhappy into it is to highlight that you are holding me to a different standard to someone you like and often agree with.
In his case, you are happy to assume that he condemns the abuse of children, you literally take it as a given when you say you’re “pretty sure” he’d come out and condemn it, but for some reason you repeatedly demand I state the obvious.
It’s because you dislike me and often don’t agree with me, whereas the opposite is true of mhappy. There’s no mystery here.
Actually, I’ve just realised, it was ryaninho who I quoted. In erroe, Dave since said it was you I brought into the discussion, and I mistakenly went along with that. But it was ryaninho and his response to someone sharing a link about Catholic clergy noncing kids, not you.
@mhappy didn’t bring up the Church. Someone else did. He was quite right to almost question what that had to do with the case in question.
You, on the other hand, were high-fiveing yourself when you saw that a right wing paedophile was encouraging a riot. And “they’re” not the only ones concerned with paedophilia or, as you so childishly put it “noncery”. We’re all appalled by it. We’re appalled by the case. I’d be betting strongly that it wasn’t solely a post made by him that made people take to the streets.
It’s not unreasonable to view it this way. Can’t do much about a British nonce except hope they get the full extent of the law. If they are foreign then we can. We can prevent it happening in the future by either barring entry or doing proper scrutiny before allowing them into the country. Protest is pressure on the government to move in that direction. I don’t think any country would like to see serious crimes committed by foreign people on their soil, it’s totally normal.
Not as much as I used to. You’re welcome to petition the mods to have me removed for lack of football watching if you want to.
