Just heard this on the radio. Fucking horrific

A nine-year-old girl was fatally shot when a man being chased by a gunman forced his way into her Liverpool home.

Olivia Pratt-Korbel was shot in the chest as her mother struggled with the men at the door of her house in Dovecot at about 22:00 BST on Monday.

The gunman “fired indiscriminately”, hitting Olivia, her mum Cheryl Korbel in the wrist and the man in the body.

Merseyside Police said the family had no connection to the two men who forced their way into the house.

Speaking at a press conference, Chief Constable Serena Kennedy appealed for anyone with information to come forward, adding that now was “not the time to remain tight-lipped”.

  • A 35-year-old man ran into their home on Kingsheath Avenue, followed by a man armed with a handgun, after Ms Korbel opened the door to see what the noise was outside

  • Olivia was fatally shot and Ms Korbel was shot in the wrist as she tried to shut the door

Why did she open her door to see what the noise was though? I wouldn’t open my door at 10pm for anything

Crime in the UK, particularly London, is really out of hand now.

OAP in a mobility Scooter was stabbed to death the other day. It’s sickening

There was another little girl stabbed to death recently as well.

Not to mention I saw a video of a moped gang attacking a car on Park Lane in the middle of traffic at like 1pm, absolute fucking madness.

One of my interns also witnessed two guys on a moped holding up another man and threatening him with a butchers knife while they took his watch.

now guns are involved in UK?

They’re still extremely rare but not impossible for gangs etc to get a hold of

prolly a remnant from when it was made :slightly_smiling_face:

We get imported illegal guns, trust me these things aren’t old. Also we have heavy fun restrictions to the point you can’t get one.

Foot. Shoot. Oneself. In The. or something like that

It’s funny that renewables weren’t cost effective compared to old energy sources, but now you have governments directly subsidising profits in those cheaper fuels with nothing in return. I wonder how long this needs to go on for before that changes, as there seems to be no end in sight for this situation.

It looks like the sanctions and all those green policies are working well for Europe, fuckin hell I don’t know how the energy supply is going to be handled in the coming winter.

Gas prices are highest in the Netherlands according to this.

I know we Dutch have money to burn, but fuck me this is ridiculous on top of having the highest pump (gasoline) prices too.

How comes you guys have money to burn? Strong economy? High wages?

Always curious as I see people talk favourably about the Netherlands when they discuss places to work in Europe

Well I was being sarcastic (a little at least), but the living standard here is pretty good though.

The Dutch are generally open minded. Easy to get along with and tell it how it is. Most expats once used to it, appreciate it.

Lots of people who are on welfare get by well (although often with some under the table money jobs on the side).

There is a very large middle class here and plenty of richer than middle class people.

De Randstad (name used for the combination of Holland’s - and I mean Holland as these cities are located in the two Holland provinces and Utrecht - biggest cities who happen to form a circle and are one giant city, is a highly industrialized urban conglomeration.

With the port of Rotterdam being the largest in Europe. Schiphol in Amsterdam one of the main airport hubs of Europe. State of the art technology runs throughout the Dutch society with continuously pushing for innovations.

The Netherlands is the 2nd largest (!) agricultural exporter (after the U.S.) in the world!

And we are a tiny speck of dust on the world map.

University of Wageningen is the world’s best and most famous agricultural University.

There are so many Polish and Ukrainian worker migrants here and everyone is making a fortune and buying houses for themselves back in their home countries. I speak to them a lot and especially when I was renovating my house.

In general, if you want to work, there is work to do in the Netherlands. The reason some don’t work is because the welfare + a few under the table gigs gives you the same salary as a minimum paying job.

Yeah yeah we get it but can your Texas beat up my Texas?

Didn’t think so :bellend:

Sorry I don’t understand American

Texas just has to get half an inch of snow and 32 degree weather and the whole state collapses in on itself so they shouldn’t be too cocky :joy:

Yeah well if we all point our fully automatic freedom sticks at the sky and shoot the clouds before it snows then problem solved.

If it gets too hot we can shoot enough bullets to block out the sun.

No need for bullets, just drive those MAGA trucks stinking up the place and the sun will be blocked in no time
