Holy fuck the ball must hit him like a feather and you can see Martinelli actually goes down to check on him after that.
Then Bradley scurries more into the pitch and Gabi thinks he’s taking the piss.
Thought it was silly enough before but honestly the media and even a lot of football fans are being ridiculous over that. They made it sound like he launched the ball at him and kicked his fucking head in.
I think Gabi was in the wrong but an apology should’ve been enough to wrap this up.
Seen plenty of scousers deny that Bradley moved back into the pitch. They’re really adamant about that.
I don’t dispute the lad got injured but he absolutely did try to get back in. I think that’s probably when he realised he’s seriously injured because it probably hurt when he did it.
You can see Martinelli catching him getting back into the pitch and that’s when he lost his cool.
The thing is that Liverpool were time wasting all the way through the match. Several of their players went down with ‘injury’ with the aim of trying to stop the game. I think this is a case of frustrations boiling over at the end of the match, and I genuinely think Martinelli thought this was another attempt by Liverpool to run down the clock. He isn’t a dirty player. Never has and never will be.
I appreciate this may be controversial but I think Gabi was lucky to get just one yellow as there was more than one aggressive-looking action in there. Doesn’t matter if it’s just lightly throwing a ball, that’s an injured player and that’s your yellow no.1. Then he shoves him towards the touchline, yellow no.2.
Whatever the intent, the misunderstanding, the heat of the moment, it wasn’t very classy, it could have injured the player further and I’m glad Gabi apologised but I don’t believe for a second that he didn’t know what had happened, millions of people watching on the tele who’ve played football could immediately see it was a real injury.
Could they? It was pretty innocuous and we are all pretty accustomed to players just lying on the ground when they are not even injured at all. The only indication we have of what Martinelli thought was the case is his IG post about it where he said he didn’t know.
And for the record, I still think he looked like a dickhead for doing it anyway.
Lol, on a serious note you can see what triggered Martinelli was seeing Bradley trying to gen inside the pitch.
I mean at that point you can imagine Martinelli thinking Bradley was taking the piss.
Yep millions of people having a face on camera view of Bradley is the exact same as Gabi facing the other direction chasing for the ball as it goes out.
