There’s no excuse for starting Xhaka and Mustafi to be honest. They were both fucking trash too, as always. Mustafi literally just fell on the ground at one point.

Yeh I’m really trying to understand what people expect from these two it’s not like they’re youth products or have showed any sign of improved in the couple of hundred games they’ve played for us.
So depressing these two have been mainstays of the last half decade.

I don’t really have a problem with starting Mustafi; normal for a new manager to ring the changes a bit even if it’s just for the sake of change itself. Xhaka is problematic though, likely can only be a choice made on the grounds of trying to appease certain personalities and get the team playing for each other. And fuck that shit.
Or like Emery he rates Xhaka and feels he’s the only one who can get the team playing receiving from defense. Which would be even more worrisome.

Embarrassing from that Benge clown. Freddie has been training with these lads for at least six months so that’s a lie.
And honestly I don’t begrudge AFTV they go to every single match, travel to all the games watch this bollocks then go home how ever far away it is.
I see Robbie every other day, outside the Emirates making videos and talking to people, guy lives and breathes this club. So does Lee and DT and I’m sure the others. They have every right to voice their concerns in my opinion.

There were some nice phases of play from a build-up point of view, and certainly some more confidence being shown in the final third.
Team selection to one side, that was already the best away performance I’ve seen in the league for ages. Can you believe there were points in the game where we had them pinned in their own box? In an away game? Actual players demonstrating ball retention, calmness and patience in the attacking third? Fucking blew my mind.
He’s barely had any time to project his ideas on to these players. Yes, he’s been assistant manager for a few months but he only had the scope to reinforce Emery’s tactics on them.
I’m willing to give him a handful more games before I say he’s complete shite. We should ofc be speaking to agents in the meantime though, and pounce as soon as a top choice agrees to join us.

Some encouraging signs. Poor guy has had 2 days with this team. I have no issues if he wants to pick the kids he knows and trusts most.
But please Freddie I beg you, no more Mustafi, and Xhaka kept to a minimum.
