For some reason it looks like the mobile version is an exclusive for netflix reading this :woman_shrugging:

Football Manager 26 Mobile will launch November 4 exclusively for Netflix members for iOS and Android devices. Netflix

Netflix?!

Yeah, they’ve got games. Didn’t you know?

Yeah I played 24 on mobile because I saw it came with Netflix. Honestly not a bad deal for punters provided you already are a Netflix subscriber.

A 2 year gap can have mixed results. On the one hand it gives the chance to make real improvements you can’t always on a yearly result cycle but it also raises expectations that every issue a series has ever had will be resolved.

I like the WWE 2K games and they had to take a break after the 2020 game was a complete disaster and they game back with a game in 2022 that was a huge improvement but there were also fans who were outraged that some completely unrealistic changes hadn’t been made.

Does sound like SI have scored some real own goals with this though.

Always going to be the case when you’re the market leader within a category and you become complacent.

Happened with these lot before and why I stopped playing when all you were essentially paying for was updated transfers most years.

What’s the market, there isn’t a competitor to Football Manager. I’d argue they’ve been complacent for a really long time. Releases have been inconsistent in quality.

Kind of my point though, there nothing out there that can compare with even the shit test versions.

Yeah, got to agree. Being a geek, I’d love it if simulation games in other areas of life were half as detailed and endlessly playable as Football Manager. The first of the new generation of games, CM4 and FM2009 spring to mind, had big issues when first released. Then the series improved thereafter until you get to FM24 which, despite it starting to feel a bit dated, was a great game that I managed to accrue a couple of thousands of hours of play.

When I saw dad a few weeks ago he was disappointed to see that I’d bought a car that was the first year of a new version “I bet you’ve 'ad problems with that one” he said and he’s bloody right (yet again). In the same way FM26 was never going to be a classic, FM27 will be driven by a year of complaints, moans, constructive feedback, You Tubers jumping on a bandwagon and will therefore be far more user-friendly.

Close to refunding tbh - been trying to give them time/wait for the full release, but since we’re now on the third hot-fix thought I’d load up this morning and give it another go… The save file has disappeared! Or rather I can see it in my C drive, but when I go to load it within FM it’s not there. And there’s no way of navigating to the right file. So annoying.

Wow that’s awful. I’d contact them

Lol

The more I see, the more convinced I am that they completely ripped-up/deleted the work they’d done on FM25 in January this year. 4 years of development totally shelved and they started from scratch. Most of the bugs just scream “rush job”. I think the match engine is the only thing that remained untouched from FM25 and even that is full of bugs.

Even a sequel in the older series had 12-18 months of development, FM26 looks and plays like it’s a load of untested ideas thrown together in 10 months and pushed out prior to it being anywhere near ready. It is going to get a spanking in the press when it’s officially released on Tuesday. There is absolutely no way that all the bugs I’m still seeing after a week of patches will be fixed in time.

It works like a dream.
