Football Manager

4 points off finishing above Spurs, must have been hell watching that unfold or were you too busy clinging on for dear life?

That’s still a bloody good effort to get Chester into the EPL, let alone staying up.

I was just relived to win the game against Stoke as that secured survival. I was very much on the beach for the Spurs :beach_with_umbrella:

Securing survival against local rivals Stoke could lead to them naming a stand after you.

So just taken over Arsenal after a brief season at Bayen04. My god this club finaces are rubbish. The u23 an u19 are terrible. I can only recuperate 30% of transfer sales. Looks like its going to be a intresting save.

I kind of fancy an “in the future game”, go on holiday for a few hours and then become Arsenal’s savior when it’s all gone to shit. Or even better, go back to when Arteta took over and see if I can do better than him.

Back in the day taking over Arsenal got a bit predictable. Sign a defensive midfielder. Win the league.

Out of interest. How good is Arsenal in latest FM’s? Sports Interactive were always quite good to Arsenal’s stats even when we won nothing. Fabregas & RvP and then later Ozil and Sanchez had elite stats.

Some of our players were surprisingly average in FM24. Saliba’s never been great, Gabriel is okay, Rice is bang average. I had to go into to the editor to make Nwaneri and Miles good enough to play for the first team. Even Raya is nowhere near golden glove material.

But you’re right, it’s never been too difficult to win the title with Arsenal over the last 20 years of FM. Usually you only need a couple of shrewd signings (the aforementioned DM always being the first purchase) so it’s a surprise that when the real team got back to title races the FM version didn’t bring much of an improvement.

One of the best regen names i have ever seen

What do you mean, “Splitting Outlet Centre Forward” is a perfectly normal thing to say.

My favourite part is going to be when half of these made up roles either 1) don’t work or 2) are shite anyway because of the match engine.

Hope it’s a big overhaul. Haven’t been that much of a change in the game the last 10 years. Miss the old days when there were more hidden gems and players had more hidden stats, it’s became too easy to spot a good player solely on his skill values.

Preferred it back in the 90s when you’d play all eleven Italians through the middle and spank everyone 6-0 on a weekly basis.

Wasn’t far off was I?

Let’s see if my 2026/27 collection comes off - I got fed-up with “Fly Better” and it’s not clear here but the home has yellow piping and the away dark red;

Mixed feeling about this. The old series really looks dated and some of the features like press conferences had become really predictable. But I’m also concerned that the depth of the old game will be lost in favour of a more video game experience.

It could be brilliant, but I think FM27 will be the good one. The 3D match engine snippets look very promising.

I don’t want another job so the desktop version is done for me and the phone one is not for me now either as I dont like phone gaming.

think I will need to get a switch and play that version. I just want a basic manager game as I haven’t played FM for years

The Switch version is FM touch. I believe that’s quite in depth.

I’ve been playing FM mobile just lately. Really enjoyed that as it reminds me of the old Championship Manager games. Very snappy and not as much in depth crap I don’t care about.

Cant be as indepth as the desktop. That looks insane now lol

I don’t mind some in depth just not over killing like setting up the meal plans for the players
