Read that Stuttgart are due to receive circa 25millions euros for one of their players so that should be the minimum. We paid circa 39million euros, so plenty of opportunity for add ons so we can recoup as much of what we paid.

The final signing for us was always tipped to be “later in the window”. Nelson is going to Fulham, Stuttgart and Arsenal are confident that an agreement can be reached over Vieira. Eze is the sort of player who will hit the ground running. I don’t think we’re getting a proper left-winger in this window.
It’s good that we’re mixing foreign quality with EPL-ready signings.

I’m okay now with Martinelli, Madueke, Eze, Jesus and Nwaneri being options on the left as I rate all five. All of those have me believing that they can do something in a tight nil nil.

He’s definitely a sunken cost but that’s the risk of a gamble like this. If we can get anywhere near £20M for him, that’s decent for a guy that has been AWOL for the last years.
