Pepe didn’t get an assist. He took a shot and the ball deflected nicely into ESR’s path. You can tell by the way Pepe opened up his body that his intention was to put the ball in the bottom corner of the net.

That wasn’t a shot at all, even in the replays he it very looked like he was squaring the ball across the face goal for a tap in.

If you see the deflection (look at the subsequent bounce after it left Pepe’s foot), you’ll know that’s not a pass. You can just about see the trajectory of the ball being altered.

Secondly, it was recorded as a blocked shot and not an assist.

Going with Odegaard. Basically established himself as a pivotal player with goals, chance creation and just his all round quality and pass selection.
