They’ve been bookmarked for 01/01/2027 don’t worry

Grumpy and hungover I hope to be shredding these judgements.

It’s ridiculous lol. Hype him up and throw him away when he inevitability can’t meet expectations (that were made up).

We’re on course for people who were hailing him as a generational talent a year ago to be labelling him “deadwood” and calling for him to be sold within a year.

At Nwaneri’s age Odegaard was leaving the Castilla for the first time and going on loan to Herenveen, Declan Rice had just made his PL debut, and Zubimendi was playing for Real Sociedad C.

And two of those players (Odegaard and Rice) were viewed as super precocious and on very accelerated development tracks.

Nwaneri is doing just fine.

We are aiming to be an elite European Club. Nwaneri doesn’t look elite playing for England Under 21s. Our fans overhype him. Obviously, he’s good. He has to be for Arteta to offer a new contract and trust him in games.

I see a lot more in MLS and Dowman.

Utter madness from some of you. Give your head a wobble.

Anyways Arteta is smashing it with the rotation and giving MLS and Nwaneri the starts at the right time. I’m loving it

Beautiful management of minutes and hopefully the injuries eventually calm down.

We need to be like all those other elite European clubs with their amazing third-choice AMs lol

People are going way overboard, yeah he has lots of things to work on and refine, especially off ball and passing and or timing of a pass.

His finishing is top tier but that’s his only elite asset at this stage, dribbling not bad either.

But patience people, he his 18 years and 7 months old, still think he has a massive career at Arsenal.

Do people understand how hard it is to play consistently at that age when at a club that’s competing for the PL and CL ??

Compare him to a Gavi, Pedri, Zaire-Emery or Guler and I think it is fair to say that he comes up well short.

Nwaneri is a good player but some of us talk as if he’s the next Cesc.

Why exactly should we compare him to those players? Who said he wss gonna by the next Pedri etc?

Hes barely 50 games into his career ffs. Has more goals than zaire emery in a third of the games btw…

I don’t think it’s a cause for concern if he doesn’t work out here. Not everyone sets the world alight, and some peak much, much later. Look at Gyokeres.

That said, if an awesome bid came in from our feeder London clubs and there was little-to-no opportunity for him here; I’d wish him well and hope we reinvest that well.

Other than that, I think he’s fine at his current level. He’s not a first-teamer, but can contribute. He’s not a liability by any means and is still a kid.

I still think he’ll end up at Fulham/Palace in a few years like ESR/Iwobi/Nketiah etc - that’s not an awful result (for him or us) by any means.

Those two have been starters for Barca for a while. Who are the third choice players in those positions for Barca?

It’s not a requirement of an elite European club to have elite teenagers starting for them and Ethan is third choice in the midfield here.

I think Guler is actually a good comparison as they are similar players in some ways. He’s 20, two years older than Nwaneri, and even just six months ago was viewed as a bust by a lot of Madrid supporters. They integrated him slowly and he’s now finding his feet more and more.

Gavi is also interesting. He was a more natural midfielder at a young age than just about anybody (other than Pedri), but is now basically crocked from playing way too much as a 16 or 17 year old.

I think its notable that none of these other players are in the PL, which is a really tough league for young midfielders because its so physically intense while also being quite tactical. The only teenage midfielder at a top club I can really think of in recent years was Mainoo, who can’t get into the team at United anymore. The “young” midfielders everybody talks about in the league right now are guys like Wharton, Anderson, and Baleba who are all 21-22 years old.

If Nwaneri learns his trade for the next 2-3 years and then starts playing a lot more when Martin Odegaard gets near 30, that’ll be the perfect development trajectory.

Let him and MLS grow.
No one knows their trajectory and how much they will improve and change.
As of now, he is nothing like a playmaker.

It’s not that deep guys. I see a good young player but not an elite talent. I see elite talents in Dowman and MLS.

I think Nwaneri is being managed very well by Arteta.

Given the injuries we are racking up this sees stupid

I think if Jesus isn’t leaving in January then I think he’s the prime candidate to go on a temporary basis.

Don’t think there is any benefit to player or club with a short term loan.

What is 12 games at Palace or Sunderland going to prove that we don’t know already. Meanwhile all his mates are back home winning the PL and CL.
