Ethan Nwaneri (22)

In hindsight, yes because Martinelli offered nothing in an attacking sense. I still maintain that Martinelli should have started. Salah needs doubling up on and some of Martinelli’ best games have been at Anfield.

Nwaneri and MLS won’t match their minutes from last season imo.

Both been pushed to the back seat by the incomings.

I agree they’ll play less but they’ll also play plenty. Both have the quality to rise to the competition.

I won’t even read too much on this.
Dowman won us some penalties when he came on late in the game, so I believe Arteta felt the same way and see if Max could continue his magic.

He’s a great ballstriker of the ball.

Don’t think he used his supporting foot well enough for balance.

Great strike. He’s definitely got something.

Enjoyed watching him today. Constantly tried to make things happen.

He’ll be brilliant once he figures out where to move and position himself in these central areas.

Too much technical ability on him, and that strike from those positions just outside the box… He’ll be a weapon once he gets there.

Dare I say his introduction meant we didn’t miss our captain?

yep, i want to see nwaneri in starting Xl at ucl on tuesday

He was very good today. If Odegaard continues with what he’s been dishing up for over a year now, I would like to see Nwaneri in the middle more often.

Brief cameo but liked what I saw. Feels like he’s getting bigger every time we see him and he’s certainly getting more involved out of possession.

Put in a fantastic tackle high up the pitch yesterday and I had to double take because I didn’t know he had that in him.

Yes I was impressed with his defensive work and drive.

I also liked how he was asking for the ball every time we were in possession.

I like the way he and MLS are being managed this season. It seems to have taken a lot of the pressure of expectation off of them both. I’m sure they’ll both start against Brighton which is perfect.

With Odegaard out he has a chance to take his spot. Eze hasn’t been particularly impressive in the right 8.

Nwaneri is a kid. He will not be starting significant games for a team with aspirations of winning the Champions League and a domestic title.

He’s being managed well. Cup games and selected home games. Foden treatment.
