We are very lucky to have him and MLS breaking through at basically the same time. Sure, Nwaneri made his debut about a year and a half ago, but can really be considered part of the core team since this season.
I would say it is more difficult right now to get into this Arsenal side than ever. You have to be better than you would have to be under Wenger, where every somewhat promising youngster got game time. So to get the minutes (games, rather) and make your mark as much as he did (seven goals!), you are very special. So happy his head didn’t get turned from bigger offers from rival clubs (which speaks to his character), and he decided to stay.
What is his contract situation like?
I reckon he will start again tomorrow, after coming of the bench in the weekend. Looking forward to it.

What makes it stand out there is obviously the minutes but the fact he’s not even a striker. Got just over a month and half to surpass the 9. Reckon he will do it.

Him and Skelly are the biggest reason for my optimism about the rest of the season, despite not signing anyone.
Having them emerging as serious options mid season is a big boost.

So Ethan basically has a month and a half (he turns 18 on 21st March) to score three goals and then he’ll have bettered both Owen and Rooney. I mean, if you’re looking at it from a goals per minute basis, he’s already well clear of both.

just give him the minutes that he deserved, no need to force for the record and then give him a label that gets him unnecessary pressure.

He won’t be given any sort of label off the back of it, its just a cool but ultimately insignificant thing that could happen. Until today, I don’t remember anyone ever discussing which players have the most goals in all comps for a Prem side before the age of 18.
let us nurture him and MLS carefully… their time will come, and actually their time has arrived.
I believe they will have sufficient minutes for the rest of the season and contribute.

The real pressure will come when he and MLS inevitably arrive for the national team. Fortunately they have the best mentor in Bukayo Saka.

Don’t think he was really a creator to begin with, which is why him being Odegaard’s sole backup to start the season was a bit odd.
His traits definitely suit the wing, aggressive on the ball and not afraid to shoot from distance nor take a man on. Any interchange play he can do with Odegaard is a bonus.
We can still try him in midfield but I think mls has shown much more suited to that and Nwaneri out wide, so far.

Early cup matches next season would be a great opportunity to see what he can do in midfield.
The only thing I’d criticise is the area the shots are coming from. Majority aren’t close to goal imo

Bring back football players taking the risk to make goals rather than worrying about how efficient they need to be all the time

That’s a pretty good ball striking standard he has set up, in general, let alone for a player of his age.
Atm it’s great we don’t have to worry about that with Ethan. Plays with great purpose, always out there to do some damage and hurt the opponent.
Hopefully he keeps that attitude, just improves the ability.

It’s not about stopping him from taking shots from those areas. Nwaneri is more than capable of scoring from 20-25 yards, but to become a regular goalscorer (which he has the potential to be) getting on the end of chances like his goal against Forest is where those extra goals are likely to come from.
