England vs. Italy (Euro 2020 Final)

Rashford man…so disappointed. This is like one of the few things you’re amazing at.

Pickfords save was the better one tbh

Fair play to Italy.

The lack of cajones displayed by England for basically 120 minutes. At basically a home tournament…

Where was Grealish and Sterling why did they bottle it and leave it to Saka?

Stop putting the cameras on Saka, you pricks! We didn’t lose because of him.

If I’m an England supporter I’ve got to be very upset with the tactics. All that attacking talent and u play coward ball. Grealish and Saka shoulda been on far earlier and actually let the leash off and allowed to attack.

Gutted for Saka tho, crying like that. Not fair for him to be the focal point when the other two before him missed their pens also. Fuck Southgate.

Even if he’s in the five, how is he fifth. That’s a shocking decision. Has he ever taken a pen before? I’ve no idea.

Yeah it was a cowardish approach in second half, which totally undid all the good work they did in first half.

Idk what you guys are on about, the cameras were constantly on Sancho earlier. They all could do with some shielding.

Honestly speaking, Italy were the much better team. Dominated possession, had three times the number of attempts.

Southgate deserves a lot of criticism. Sancho, Saka, Grealish, Mount, Kane, Sterling… so much attacking talent and he was cowardly with it. Run at them, attack them, attack the space. Do something positive with the ball.

They were totally dominated in midfield. Verratti and Jorginho was too much for Rice and Phillips

Mount surviving as long as he did was criminal

they still have Sterling and Grealish, more mature and experienced players to choose from.
Not any reason to pick Saka to take that #5, no way

Even if he did volunteer it’s pretty lousy for Jack “Soccer Jesus” Grealish to hide from the moment.

I looked it up, he has taken 2 in the youth team, one for England and one for Arsenal. But never as a first teamer.

Italy totally deserved to win. And I’m really glad they did. Scoring in the 2nd minute and trying to protect a lead for 88 minutes should be punished by the football gods every single time.

Speaking to one of my best mate who is Italian enjoying it and congratulating England. Honeslty puts some of the shit in this thread to shame and makes me love the Azzuri so fucking much!!

Love Italy so happy for them, we need to learn from them…

They do do that sometimes, it’s weird. E.g. Pearce missing in 1990 is given more publicity than Waddle, whose penalty was total shit by comparison.

The easy run-in duped the management on what was working and what wasn’t. England needed a quality opponent much earlier and not in the final.
