Emiliano Martinez

The absolute clownshow of combining fruit and chocolate cake is just, idk. I think some people are damaged in ways we don’t really understand.

Strawberry with chocolate?

Why ruin the chocolate?

Chocolate and Lemon is weird… :poop:

Chocolate and orange, or chocolate and cherry is amazing

This is Arteta’s biggest L.

He patched Emi for Leno.

12 months later he patches Leno for Ramsdale

24 months later he patches Ramsdale for Raya

Waste of time.

Nah both are better than emi plus he’s turned into a right bellend

Cost net 30m to have 2 keepers better than him, not bad work.

He would he would be our bellend ! @Starboy

Emi is not that good hahah. Doesnt help that he is a disgusting human being on top of it. Would rather have Leno than have Emi back.

Did he? Emi wanted to be the guaranteed #1 and Arteta couldn’t promise him that. Emi was on his last year as well so we didn’t have much leverage.

At the end of the day, we sold him at a very good price for a keeper after playing well for a couple months for us.

Despite his feats for Argentina, I don’t think he’s anywhere as good for Villa. I would argue Leno for Fulham has been better than Martinez for Villa.

Agree with everything but this

You think we could’ve sold him for more? Even in hindsight I can’t see it.

I don’t see it personally. The sample size wasn’t great. We’re about two months here of playing great for us.
And then you factor into the equation that he had a year left in his deal.

Perhaps we could’ve squeezed like another 5m out of Villa or something but I don’t think we made bad money out of him.

I suppose this is a mitigating factor. I absolutely think we could’ve got more than 16mil, though.

Emi is better than Leno, Raya and Ramsdale. He doesn’t fit our system though. Think he’s the third best in the league bar the two Brazilian.

Emi Martinez was a 27 year old with barely 100 appearances to his name and about half of them in lower divisions when we sold him. Not yet an international either. And I think he was the 8th most expensive keeper ever when we sold him. And as mentioned in the last year of his contract.

By far the best piece of selling we’ve done since ox.

Truth (and it hurts)

Better at what? Can’t help but feel this is heavily influenced by his Argentina form.

He concedes shitty goals all the time for Villa. His game with the ball at his feet is just passable too.
As a shot stopper there’s others ahead of him beyond Alisson.

Truly the CEO of Emi gang
