Edu Gaspar

Not sure what to think of both of them…

I guess they are in a similar place like Edu before he joined. I though we were only getting him because he was an ex player and expected nothing from him. Just like with Arteta.

Could be great, could be shit. Could be something in between.

No to yes-men, that’s not what we need.

Either way, whoever they get will most likely be loyal to someone.

If it’s not Arteta, it may be Tim Lewis, Richard Garlick or that new guy James King.

Looks like a fucking Sven regen

We have to appoint a figure with a own football vision and the personality to not be a yes man. What we’re reading during these days is worrying.

Mikel is a great coach but must not have all the power. Joan Garcia story is very worrying.

Also need someone with a shit ton of contacts so we can be ahead of the game in transfer negotiations on highly sought after players.

Feels related. Maybe Edu is getting another job within the Marinakis organisation?

4th November

The Independent understands Edu had harboured ambitions to become CEO at Arsenal, a position the Marinakis group is willing to meet, as well as TRIPLE his current salary. Edu has been in talks with the Marinakis group & could now lead their recruitment.

Marianakis in an interview said he wanted to buy a Brazillian team to add to the group. Maybe a DoF role for the group

Either way, he apparently triples his salary being there and not at Arsenal. Fair enough.

Yeah, my understanding was that Edu will be the director for the group of clubs.

Lina will be CEO like she was for Marinakis at Olympiakos.

Sign someone cunt

I call bullshit.

I hope it comes out but I’ve always felt the Neto deal was the last straw. Arteta and Inaki Cana only wanted the Spanish keeper Joan Garcia

Wouldn’t surprise me if there was growing disconnect between the pair. When you look at our business towards the tail end of the summer (Neto and Sterling), and the abrupt nature of Edu’s departure it always did feel like maybe there was a little more to it all.

Edu and Kia when they were scrambling around for forwards in the summer: “Just hear us out Mikel, but think about this. Willian, Arsenal, unfinished business.”

Mikel:

Honestly, I don’t think Willian was that bad. If memory serves me right, we were playing a back three during his time at the club. And the whole attacking side of the team looked a bit fried until Arteta switched to a back 4 against Chelsea in December 2020

Cedric, Pablo Mari, and whoever else came as a result of the Kia connection, I can agree.
