Eddie Nketiah

We’ll be lucky to get half that

The guy couldn’t cut it in the championship last season, but he’s starting games for us. He’ll probably get another crack at the championship with us next season though.

And he should. He’s good, and he’s from the academy.

Aubameyang, despite having world class movement inside the penalty area, is not getting any chances, but people expect Nketiah to somehow always find himself in good positions to score despite the team not creating the opportunities in the first place.
There’s only so much a striker can do.

This is where we disagree.

Unfortunately for him when he did get a decent opportunity he fucked it really badly.

Wasn’t a very good chance, for me, but even if it was, it wouldn’t matter much. All strikers – even the best ones – miss lots of chances. You just need to keep on making the right runs and have the team provide opportunities for you to score.

Yeah…unmarked 12 yards out, loads of time…Yup, I can see how it was difficult…

Eddie is trash, anyone that’s happy with this level of striker playing for us should also be content with playing in the Championship.

Ultimately that’s where Eddie will end up one way or another.

Why are we playing this kid ?
If he wasn’t good enough for Chelsea then why do we think he is good enough for Arsenal?
I’d sell him on and quickly to

This is basically describing our transfer policy since 2016.

I think this doesn’t apply to youth players. Lot of uncertainty at those ages. Wasn’t Kane in the Arsenal academy at first? Don’t think we would mind a striker with his goalscoring record :eyes:.

Nketiah is a backup striker and in that terms he is good enough and he has shown to be good enough. As he ages, he is only going to be better, but as a backup.
We should never be in a position where he is our main choice.

I agree, wasn’t good enough for Leeds in the championship. We’ve seen him start like 10 times now and he doesn’t bring anything at all to the team.

He can bring a lil something, however, in this team that barely creates any chances he’s going to look anonymous practically every game.

Goes without saying he’s not the requisite quality of a top side but he’d be doing a few bits
if he was actually getting chances.

Most strikers would look terrible here under Arteta, hopefully we get a decent fee for Eddie

How much is he currently worth in this market? £15m?

Think he needs a good loan to a championship side so he can prove himself as a regular goalscorer at that level.

Bite the arm of anyone who offers it.
