Eddie Nketiah

How many do you think we’ll sell between Eddie, Emile and Reiss?

Really?? He’s a good player.. but he’s not some world beater lol. Nowhere near.

Eddie is rubbish though; I think Greenwood is better than him.

I stand corrected. I hadn’t appreciated how much he had played for Utd and the number of goals he had scored. I still think Nketiah should command a higher price just based on the fact that he has been playing for a top team over the last couple of seasons and that must count for something in my view.

Outside of finishing there’s not much that stands out about Greenwood and it isn’t like his finishing is elite.

Wouldn’t disagree that he’s better than Nketiah though.

Yeah, Greenwood was a pretty big talent. Made his debut at 17 for Man Utd and played for England at 18.

If he didn’t decide to ruin his career he would’ve been a big player for both England and Man Utd.
I think his talent is highlighted by how he managed to recover after a near 2 year absence from professional football.

He’s on the US tour list. Let’s wrap this transfer up. We’ve seen all we need to from him.

Loan?? I thought Marseille were loaded.

If it’s with an obligation then I’m fine with it. If it comes with an option then no way.

Why would they want both Greenwood and Eddie?

Because ones a striker and the other a winger?

I mean they managed to feed auba well enough last season and Eddie plays similar (obv a much lower level) in that he’s less involved in the build up and focuses on being in the box to finish the chances.

If they keep a similar setup he could do alright, just give us the cash so we can be rid.

Fuck me, all these loans.

Obligation to buy or not, get the bums gone

I believe Greenwood is seen as a wide forward and they lost Auba to Saudi so Nketiah will be his replacement.

Obligation to buy is fine. He’ll do well at Marseille.

I guess the caveat with these moves is when that obligation kicks in.
Is it before or after next July?

Looks like this is picking up pace. Marseille are close to agreeing personal terms with Nketiah.

OM advances on the arrival of English striker Eddie Nketiah
The Marseille club, which is preparing to change 80% of its starting 11 during this summer window, continues to be active on all fronts. An agreement has almost been reached between OM and Arsenal’s English striker Eddie Nketiah.

I swear if we don’t get more than what they paid for Hojbjerg…

I’m very fascinated to see what kind of money they offer us. I was super down on giving him a new contract because I just didn’t buy the argument that it protected his value. If we end up having to loan him with an option it’s going to be very disappointing.

Done.
