I mentioned elsewhere that journalist/podcaster Tom Canton was 99% certain that this was going to happen before the close of the window but today appears to have heard something that’s made him think it won’t happen. Maybe it was dependent on Trossard leaving and now he’s injured. Maybe Arteta has convinced himself that Dowman/Nwaneri are sufficient cover for Saka and Noni will be our LW.
What’s clear to me is we’re not winning the league with an ineffective left side of attack. Noni’s going to have to improve beyond our wildest dreams and I can’t see that happening.

we have enough money for eze more than enough we can spend more without blinking stop listening to crap.
If Eze doesn’t come (and there’s no strong links to suggest anyway). The simplest answer is there was no real intention of getting him.
As I said before. Strongly consider our transfer business is already wrapped up.

It seems bizarre that Arteta would sign Madueke before Eze but even stranger it might be instead of him, also Eze is a game changer that can play on the left who’s an in form player in the PL.
What’s Madueke done at Chelsea to show he’s any better than Martinelli or Eze?
It looks unlikely we’ll get both and that our business in the window is done which, considering how desperate we are for an upgrade for LW, is a risky strategy for Arteta and Berta because continuing the slow attacking football we’ve been playing recently and fail to challenge Liverpool for the title, it won’t go down well with the supporters.

It won’t be the first time Arteta and/or the club have played risk with our title chances. It was so fucking obvious that we needed a back-up striker for Havertz before the window closed in January.

The more reliable links always told a relatively consistent story, which is that the club wanted (1) a striker (2) backup for Saka and (3) a left sided attacking player but that this third piece would be linked to Trossard or Martinelli leaving.
There seems to be some reason to believe that whether the left-sided player was more of a traditional winger or more of an attacking midfielder who could play on the wing like Eze was influenced by Nwaneri signing a new contract.
Add it all up and we’re still waiting for either Martinelli or Trossard to GTFO but it wouldn’t be surprising if the signing was more of a winger and not Eze.

exactly, the sale of Trossard/Martinelli is the key of us getting the final piece, either Eze or a true (left) winger.
Most of the journos (ITKs can go do one) seemed to believe that Nwaneri’s contract renewal had nothing to do with the possibility of signing Eze. I refer back to last week’s call between Berta and Eze which was leaked long after confirmation that Nwaneri’s contract was tied-up.
If Berta was calling to say “Sorry mate we’re not coming for you” I’m not sure it would have taken 3 hours.

But forget that, because some guy on You Tube with 108 subscribers says “Arsenal preparing €52million bid”. Spoiler, it’s bollocks and I’ve told YT not to recommend his channel again.

Yep, I’ve got about a dozen hobbies so YT struggles to understand me. I also spend a lot of time requesting they don’t recommend any channel that has Mr Beast-style thumbnails or anything that uses AI or clickbait titles or anything involving Lee Gunner. It’s definitely getting worse though.
I watched a video on the 2013 Moore F5 tornado yesterday and instead of thinking “this guy might want to see other extreme weather-related videos by similar creators” I got 20+ recommendations for documentaries on that same event. You Tube’s gone down the same shitification road as the rest of the internet.
