I think we’re still looking at two positions - Attacking Midfield and a LW.
For CAM, we appear to have Eze as the prime target, although like @SuperArsenal1886 says we have also been linked with Simons.
For LW I can see us still being interested in Rodrygo and maybe Gordon (means Trossard will be sold, which seems likely given the links).
Disappointing to see this looks like it won’t happen. Get fucking Gyorkes over line and then find another… otherwise we have to hope Nwaneri can step up big time. I sense Trossard may be leaving as well.

It would be unforgivable if we only add Gyokeres and Madueke. The team clearly needs a spark. Rodrygo was the dream, Eze was the 2+2=4 4 and Simons or Rodgers was the starlet who could turn into a sensation.
Rice and Merino doesn’t fill me with creative hope in the 8.

Like in every other window, we’ve seen defensive signings but surely we can’t go into a new season with only one first team attacking signing, especially after waiting so long.
Unless Madueke is the LW we’ve been waiting for, there has to be a significant other attacker like Eze or we’ve barely strengthened, especially if Trossard leaves.
I’ll be very disappointed if we don’t sign that 3rd attacker this summer.
Eze would be perfect for us. I’m kind of hoping we’re playing the take it or leave it approach in the hope that Palace folds under pressure from the player. If he were to go on strike a la Goykeres that might force their hand.
If there’s anything positive to say here, maybe it’s a good thing we’re not wasting the summer chasing targets that won’t be sold. We’ve seen it far to often in the past.
Well none of us know for sure, but it seems the strategy has been to to sign players so we have two players in each position. With Gyokeres and Mosquera we achieve that. Then it seems everything is down to market opportunities. I expect us to try to expedite sales while the team are on pre-season.
I think you’re right. We’ve heard a lot about it being down to whether we sell either Trossard or Martinelli too. If one goes, one comes in.
That’s a stupid way to operate though, left wing was at worst our third highest priority position because what we have hasn’t been good enough.
Address the issue then worry about balancing the outgoings.
That’s the view from outside the club. What we don’t know is whether Berta/Arteta are actively looking to ensure one goes. We’re getting mixed messages, usually from “ITKs”. One moment we’ve offered Trossard in part-exchange for Eze, the next we’re offering him an improved contract.
I could offer a whole range of conspiracy theories regarding the mixed messages but I’m happier to see how it plays out. I do think we’d be better off bringing in another player and having Martinelli as back-up though.
i think we’re going with Martinelli and Noni at left.. with Trossard deep option… I think Eze would be more cover for Odegaard and also some depth for right and left sides in attack… at this point tbf we have numbers, maybe not sufficient quality in depth:
Striker: Gyokeres, Havertz, Jesus, Merino/Tross/Martinelli
LW: Martinelli, Noni, Tross
RW: Saka, Nwaneri, Noni, Martinelli
AM: Ode, Havertz, Nwaneri
CM: Rice, Zubi, Merino, Nwaneri (?)
A couple of positions with same person covering, but we are actually ok numbers-wise. I’d personally feel better with Eze in and maybe Trossard out, especially long-term.
