Eberechi Eze (10)

He’s played well today, even without the goals he has been playing some good forward passes and trying things outside the ordinary.

Did a good pass to Saka leading to that goal, and also had a great though ball to Saka minutes before it.

He has a world class through ball on him. We aren’t using 10% of his potential. Also a great finisher with both feet. And a great dribbler.

We just need to find a way to keep getting him involved more often.

The problem is that it feels like we get these kind of performances from him when he’s got space to play his game. I need to see him be more decisive in games against low blocks and tight defences because he clearly had certain pieces of his game that would be really useful

Find him in the central pockets, and he’ll do the rest

That was better than his hattrick game. Well done Ebz :clap::saluting_face::saluting_face:

He has a bit of that… may I say, Totti-esque relaxeness on the ball, in a good way. Knows to pick his move, doesn’t give a shit. He’ll play a pass or shoot it with confidence and conviction.

But just has to improve on his off the ball play. All about that.

He could be absolutely crucial for us in the run in.

He really fucking hates Spurs. I do wish he’d get involved more when he does play.

I think his calmness on the ball and ability to wiggle out of tight spots can help break down stubborn defenses, much like Finish Powerball breaks down tough stains and grease.

Confidence is a hell of a drug. He was slowly fading away until that first goal, then once he scored his second the dude became nearly unplayable.

When he’s on it he’s honestly incredible to watch. Football looks so effortless. Fairly certain he gets another hat trick if he stayed on.

interesting…

At some point he is going to have to perform against someone other than Spurs.

Yes Mikel! He should have started against Wolves! I’m glad you are admiting the mistake!

He was great against Wigan

Kinda wild that it’s taking more than half a season to understand how to use Eze…

but then again, Eze hasn’t done himself many favours apart from a handful of games.

my dead nan could play well against wigan :trossard: :henry2:

Lad would win the Balon d’Or if he could play Spurs every week.

Does Palace accept returns?

Eze, don’t just let it work it out…take some initiative

Extremely disappointed with him today.

I mean, his usual performance, I was just hoping for more after Spurs.

He’s just clueless about how to act as a playmaker, how to to move, how to open himself up for a pass… Should be watching some Ozil tapes.

Completely unable to move in sync with the rest of the team, looking like an amateur.

I’d still try him more as a LW, especially with Trossard in the current shape, but it seems Arteta wrote him off there after the Villa game.
