Anyone been playing it. Gotta admit it’s an improvement for sure. But charging 90 quid for early access with servers being down is typical EA.
Yup! Clubs and Career mainly. They’ve definitely made it harder to pull off aerial & through passes, crossing and long shots. Rewards good build up and pressing more. Much more authentic than 24 for sure.
Given everyone wants something different from their football games it’s not necessarily “better” for all but I much prefer it this way.
Rush is the most refreshing aspect though by far. Especially for us weekly 5/6 a side addicts lol. Quick and easy games with equal XP to league pretty much.
Would still say eFootball is the more complete game on the pitch and the feel is just right. But until they get some authentic modes it’s not viable. Konami shooting themselves in the foot still forcing Dream Team after how many years now?
As for FC, simulation settings are a good base but they need like 8-10 mins a half right now to get enough shots going in a game. So a few tweaks to reduce error a touch on both sides with a bit more shot power helps with shorter games. That way 5-8 mins a half isn’t just a series of tight draws and 1-0’s. Live Start Points will be a solid feature they’ll add during the season.
Matchmaking for Clubs on opening week as usual not great and at the moment you can only use your default tactic. Clubs is always glitchy at the start every year anyway. The facilities feature is a pretty good inclusion though in addition to the new tactics system. Gives every club more of their own identity.
I’m not buying this year, even on sale.
I find the lack to detail in presentation unforgivable. In every stadium, the home team kicks left to right first half, right to left second half in every game. They don’t bother to get home and away dugouts right, the wrong commentary plays when you win the league or in any number of situations. They can’t even be bothered to change the number of subs on the bench to 9. In career mode you can’t sign players whose contracts are expiring. And all of these things have been true for years if not decades.
Given that EA go for being the glossy product, rather than the gameplay product, they’re just not good enough.
I haven’t bought it yet but career mode has been officially dead for at least 7 years now. I tried the player career mode but Mikel kept forcing me to play CB instead of CF—very realistic
It’s not a money maker like ultimate teams so the developers just ignore it.
There’s such a massive opportunity for someone to make a better game and take over EA’s monopoly.
we just need 4 to play the Rush… can we get 4 for pro club this season??
If it’s the same as last years you can set up a pro-clubs team and add numerous teammates so that you can run a game when there’s at least one other player online with you.
I’m not sure what the limit is to players you can add.
a club can have 50 players but for a 11 vs 11 game, you can only field max 11 players.
For Rush you can only field 4.
Funnily enough they’ve actually done this! In career mode only I think.
I am giving up FUT and go back to Career mode this season, and feel like… everything is so slow…,
I never bought last years game and it’s one of the best decisions I made
@KITN
Have you downloaded it/got your copy?
Haven’t had a chance because I’m still at work. I’ll probably pick it up later today.
so, you have a hard copy (disc) then.
what is your time zone?
Yeah I get the hard copy so I can trade it in for the new one each year for a discount.
U.S.—Eastern timezone.
see if you want to start it tonight.
let’s create a team, name it like Online Arsenal, or Dark Arts Arsenal…
I try to get my son to play if we do Rush. Don’t know why he is not quite interested in the 11 vs 11 mode.
One of the things I really dislike about this series is that each year it has gameplay tweaks when it comes out and with each patch it then just slowly morphs into the same arcade game designed to appeal to UT players whilst simultaneously getting them raging enough to spend on new cards.
If you play it, it is really not as bad as some said.
HOWEVER, a lot of people saying the career mode is a great improvement.
My ass.
I use Arsenal for my career.
Every single game I have to sub my two full backs at around 60th minute.
Mandatory.
It is because:
1/ speed of our full back sucks
2/ speed of the oppenents’ wings are too good
3/ stamina of players (human control, not AI control) sucks
I start White and Calafiori, but I have to put Timber and Kiwoir in almost every game.
Chasing wings alone already cost a lot of stamina.
If you do a couple of overlapping, substitution needs to be done at half time.
No way it should be like that.
It’s the best one in the last 5 years. Master spammers can’t spam their way to goal anymore and are annoyed. You need a bit of a brain now lol
