Declan Rice (done and dusted)

Yeah, not a finance attorney but it sounds pretty fucking stupid even if it’s technically legal (the best kind of legal imo).

does it really count as a manipulating?

we are talking about 2 teams out of hundreds of teams out there, trying to “lower” the Rice’s bidding value (if that is true).

unlike limited airlines out there, the big ones manipulated the fuel surcharge and air fares…

I mean it’s definitely manipulating the people involved. Lets say we’re each at two different clubs and you want Balthazar Golightly, the best midfielder out of Topeka in 100 years. You bid 10m and it’s rejected. You bid 25m and it’s rejected.

I don’t want him, have no need for him but we’re buddies. You call me up, tell me to put in a bid because you think that me putting in a bid will give you the ability to go back to your finance people and convince them that you have to bid more because I bid more even though you and I both know I have no interest in the player. And for this to work, I’d have to use part of my budget to lodge a bid for a player I don’t actually want or need just to help you out.

Remember, it’s not a question of lowering the price. She specifically said it was a question of convincing the money people at a club to bid more in order to secure a signing. It just doesn’t make sense.

I think none of us really believe Pep was helping out anybody by placing a bid.

Rice is just not their priority and they were tempted to place a bid within range because our bids were rejected.
If they got him it was lucky, it they did not get him, just fine.

Aluko said City only put in a bid to help Arsenal and didn’t want the player. That hasn’t been proven and it would be foolish to take a victory lap.

Certainly hasn’t stopped her

Fun fact, the baldhead detective used to be the real life police commissioner for Baltimore City.

What’s happening everyone? Here’s a video detailing everything you need to know about Declan Rice in under 4 minutes for those interested. Quite easily one of the signings of the summer in my eyes and someone who’ll truly have a transformational effect on Arsenal next season (despite the hefty price tag). Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and answering any questions you may have, cheers and enjoy your evening!

No agreement with David Sullivan and Blink had the audacity to move to Players. We could be fucked.

That’s normal. Players often have their medicals while the clubs sort out the details around the finances.
WH know that Rice only wants Arsenal so I expect Sullivan and co are still pissed-off that their player has sabotaged the bidding war they wanted.

It’ll be sorted, I support the audacity of @Bl1nk

Has there been an occasion where there’s been a transfer reversal after free acceptance?

Im sure theres been occasions of fees accepted and medicals taken place only for the player to decide to go to another club

Im sure Willian was one, he was at Spurs and decided to go to Chelsea.

He’s such a hoo-uh.

I imagine there are tonnes of cases of clubs agreeing a fee but not being able to agree structure. Most transfers arnt live tweeted as this one was though.

Yeah, Chelsea spent years singing about it - even after he had left them. Only one of their chants with more than one word.

I’m sure xhaka would like this sorted quickly to allow him to make his own move
