So a few of my mates are all Irons fans and I’ve been giving a lot of stick recwntly about how we robbed them off Declan. Obviously after Tuesday I upped the ante! Anyways, we’re having a little Xmas get together next week for a couple beers and they’ve sent me this to wear. I love it!
It is wide enough to fit 3 of me though but I don’t care haha.

That’s not entirely true.
That’s what he initially wanted but various things happened over the years that essentially burned that bridge. That Alex Goldberg guy revealed it in the summer.
He was actually their #1 target in midfield under their new management but they had no chance to sign him.
IfI could take a guess, the situation went bad when Lampard was begging for Chelsea back in 2020 to sign him to the point that he got heat for it because the people above him weren’t that convinced.
It was mentioned as one of the reasons Lampard got fired the first time around in an Athletic piece.
There’s obviously the heartbreak of what happened as a teenager as well.
I think Rice and his family has every right to feel bitter towards Chelsea. Same for Mount.
It’s a mercenary club after all.
