I had a bias for small size goalkeepers [<186/188cm]. So scared to play again with a GK not strong in the air and who can’t impose his presence on opponent players. Appreciated so much what David Ospina did for us but I was in favour of a different profile similar to Oblak - in fact I was totally in favour of keeping Emi Martinez as regular starter even ahead of Leno. David Raya has completely changed that. Now I know why Arteta and Iñaki Cana went so strong for him despite the million spent months before for another one potential starter as Ramsdale. It’s not only down to concentration weakness but Raya is simply a better goalkeeper in every aspect. Defenders fully trust in him.
I have to correct the stance that Raya is marginally better.
He is miles better and definitely the right choice for the club.

Think he’s been outstanding this season. There was a period last season where it didn’t feel like he was saving much but he’s clearly among Europe’s elite right now.

Same. I won’t lie, I felt jealous seeing the other goalies during clutch moments in the CL, especially Donnarumma.
Reflecting back on it, the only goal where I could feel a bit he could’ve done better is the Hakimi one in Paris. The Vini goal was a Saliba fuck-up, Dembele’s was a one in a thousand shot, the goal Fabian scored was deflected. Beyond that he’s been ever so reliable.
My misses on Saturday said to me when I walked into the living room think I might be pregnant and then shower me 2 pregnancy tests 
. I think Raya got the better revel

He only makes a average of 1 save per game. Not good enough for title contenders.

I want to compliment this guy again, no he didn’t have to make many saves but his aggressive positioning and ability to read the play saves us from dangerous situations when closing out a game.
Top quality keeper.

Not criticizing him because he has been very, very solid, but what on earth possessed him coming out for that ball. Brobbey has no chance of scoring that ball had he stayed on his line. Really poor decision making from David, hope it’s a one off and he learns a lesson.
