David Luiz

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I mean, what’s unbelievable is how stupid he is. He’s always a few matches away from a huge fuck up. It’s who he is, it’s who he’s always been.

Guess the debate is whether it’s accidental or not.

Personally, I’d have thought it would be a pen and a yellow for that.

I’ve already contextualised this loss, but if it turns out the fucking ref and VAR have fucking forgotten the fucking rules :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Anyone solely blaming Luiz for tonight is clearly displaying agenda bias.

Where’s he got that random bit of text from? It sounds like from a blog or something rather than a rulebook.

This is the FA and IFAB definition:

the offending player is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling, pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.) the offending player must be sent off

If the contact is pen-worthy then it’s got to be red-worthy too from that

Didn’t watch the game. But if what I’m reading above is true - surely Arsenal make a serious complaint.

Or didn’t see the match and how he got sent off.

If the contact is pen worthy then I believe Saka should have won us a penalty also.

Or the other way round if your not.

Lol I don’t love or Hate David, just calling it as I see it.

Me too :innocent:

What a shambles of a rule.

I’ve had a chance to level out from the match and I think it was pretty harsh. The rule is really poorly written because it appears that if he had trucked into the guy with a lame attempt to play the ball, he could only receive a yellow, but because the ref judged his intent and he didn’t play the ball he could receive a red.

Harry Maguire doesn’t get that called on him. John Stones doesn’t get that called on him. VVD doesn’t get that called on him. The ref made up his mind that it was intentional because Luiz is Luiz. He’s got previous.

It’s frustrating as I think we played really good stuff in the first half.

See all this debating the red gets away from the fuck up by Luiz.
A half we dominated was thrown away by this clowns ineptitude. If that’s Mustafi. . .
We went in at 1 1 which was a bloody travesty and unnecessary.

I myself hates David Luiz and used to laugh at him when he played for Chelsea, PSG and Brazil. Shocked why we signed him with his terrible defending and clownish moments. But with the red card this time he is kind of unlucky.

Luiz gonna Luiz. Simple as that.

Yeah but we are talking about the card and not the needless penalty.
The penalty makes it 1 1. The game changed then.

Unlikely tonight…wasn’t a sending off so feel harsh for being critical, but his positional play in the run up to the penalty was at fault. This is why I think we need another top quality CB to replace him with and then our central defence is sorted.
