David Luiz

No one clearly wanted him or he would have gone

If we get Gabriel you imagine he starts because of his age. Who starts with him, a teenage Saliba, an error prone Mustafi?

I honestly thought Luiz would be the best person to put beside Gabriel and educate him on the pace of the PL.

If we make bank on Luiz fair enough, but I’m not in favour of this as things stand.

Hmm when this story first broke last week, Luiz posted this on his insta the same day?

Strange

I don’t think Mustafi or Sokratis have any value. And both would probably prefer to become free agents next summer rather than sign a crap two year deal now with a new crap club we pawn them to this summer. I think Arteta actually kind of likes Mustafi, so I see him staying. Sokratis will either stay and not play or, ideally, be loaned out somewhere to get him off our wage bill and maybe get us a very very small loan fee.

Holding has the most value and I’m most optimistic about our ability to sell him this summer. I think some Premier League club will want him in the 12-15m range.

Chambers has similar value but everything depends on how he is coming along from his injury. He was back in training in July but that can mean many things. Clubs will only buy him if they think he will be able to play for their first team fairly soon.

Add it all up and I like the idea of selling Luiz if we can simply because its not clear we’ll be able to sell any of the others except Holding.

I almost think they have negative value, you could have a football club interested in one of our players and turn around and say ā€˜for a part of the deal you take mustafi for free’ they would probably be like ā€˜thanks we will look elsewhere’

Ideally, neither Luiz or Musti should go. Both have bought into Teta’s gameplan, especially the first.
Don’t want to throw Saliba and Gabriel out there and learn it the hard way. Better if we ease them in.

Rennes seems like a completely random destination, if you want to make something up at least make it believable.

What is it? 3 red cards and like 5 penalties? And getting turned countless times leading to a goal.

I dont want to play 5 at the Back to hide is absolute glaring weaknesses. Bye please

He can’t play in a back 4 to save his life. We want to play 4-3-3. He has to go

Until Arteta starts using it again, you can’t know for certain.

He is one of our better defenders and one of the few that can maybe be sold for a decent amount.

What can you expect when the rest of them are completely unsellable bums.

That Sokratis transfer truly stinks to high heaven. I want an investigation into that one.

ā€œNegative equityā€ is the theme of our transfer business.

It’s largely tied to the silly wages we hand out.

If we’re signing players then I’m happy to see players leave.

I don’t believe keeping basically the same squad as last season because they had a run of 6 good games is going to get us anywhere.

I’ve genuinely zero affection for any Arsenal centre back. At least Tierney and Bellerin have something I at least like, even if one is only effective as a tree distributor.

Oi. He does more than that!

If we sell Luiz I’d be a bit worried only because he’s the one defender we have that’s assured when playing the ball out of the back, and the jury is still out on the two new CBs we bought. I posted an article about how Arteta basically took the ball away from Xhaka after the restart and gave all of the deep progression responsibilities to David Luiz. So if we lose him it would definitely signify in my mind that there’s gonna be a major midfield overhaul, I mean at least I’d hope that was the plan or this would leave us royally fucked.

Now with Arteta and Edu calling the shots I feel a lot more confident we are gonna be able to target and buy the guys who are really gonna fit the style Arteta wants to play, we need only a couple chefs in the kitchen so I’m on board with this diluted system we have now.

Rennes and Zenit for Lovren. Levels mate.

Who could have predicted the fear spreading among Arsenal fans that David Luiz might be sold. 3 months ago we’d have took the money and run.

All of this. Fuck this chaos factor. Hes a ball watching prick on set pieces too.

I’m still absolutely not having this nonsense about Luiz not being better than Lovren lol
