Chelsea

What do they expect as an EL club with one of the best keepers in the world in his final year and wanted by Madrid? It’s not even like Chelsea are at the beginning of some exciting project.

If Madrid wanted Ramsey, Sanchez or Ozil I’d have understood them wanting to go.

Every time I catch Chelsea on TV I’m reminded that Marcos Alonso killed a young woman when he was driving drunk. Fuck that guy.

Roman Abramovich is exploring a multibillion-pound sale of Chelsea football club after failing to secure a visa to work in the UK earlier this year.

The Russian oligarch bought Chelsea in 2003 and his directors at the club are now understood to have hired an investment bank specialising in sport, technology, media and telecoms to oversee a strategic review.

In June a bid for a minority stake in the west London side from the US private equity giant Silver Lake Partners was knocked back.

The move to hire the Raine Group came after Abramovich, 51, pulled the plug on a new £1bn stadium at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge home when he was unable to procure a work visa.

The Home Office has cracked down on wealthy Russians living in Britain after the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal in Salisbury.

Abramovich is said to be reluctant to invest heavily in a new project in a country where he can no longer legally work.

The thrice-married businessman secured Israeli citizenship, which allows him to travel to the UK but not to work, though he was unable to attend his team’s FA Cup victory at Wembley in May.

Raine advised Manchester City’s Middle Eastern owners on the sale of a stake in the club to Chinese investors and helped Japanese technology giant SoftBank on its £24bn acquisition of the Cambridge-based chip maker ARM.

The strategic review is being overseen by Chelsea directors Marina Granovskaia and Eugene Tenenbaum, who are also senior advisers to Abramovich.

Chelsea declined to comment but a source close to the club said it was “not for sale”. Silver Lake and Raine declined to comment.

Divorce and visa have taken its tool. It has been time since he wanted to invest in the club again. Clearly got bored now.

problem is that some other rich fucker will buy them and be Abramovich mk2 probably. Really hope they get a fucking miser owner like ours and they are forced to be self suffient, no more sackings of managers no more superstars unless they can afford them etc.

There aren’t that many rich people around that could afford to do what Abramovich did.
Also would the new owners have to pay the debts that Chelsea have accumulated?

Usmanov is about the only person I can think of that might be interested, and that could afford it, and he seems to be more interested in Everton.

what about that guy that wanted to buy chavski for 2bn before and was turned down. That guy has huge amounts of money if i remember rightly he was even more wealthy than Abramovich. Not sure if he would spend his own money though if he purchased them but sure as fuck would have the money to do so if he wished.
