Carabao Cup

I think Palace have been our hardest opponent this season, which is why I’ve said we’ve ended up with the hardest draw.

How can getting Palace at home be harder than Chelsea, City or Newcastle?

We nearly lost to City.

Because I think they are the best team we have played against this season. So well organised. Defensively solid, but with a threat in attack. I don’t fear Chelsea based on what I have seen so far this season. Newcastle are inconsistent, but I think we can beat them. I don’t like playing City, and as @RockyMaivia says we almost lost to them, but I think we are better defensively and can score against them. Palace we so much harder to break down.

Home tie - no complaints. Would be nice to have Madueke, Odegaard and Havertz on the pitch.

Shit draw, 3 teams will obviously progress (Chelsea, city, Newcastle) and then it’s us or palace and likely us.

Boring.

Slot saying his squad isn’t as big as other teams as an excuse for the result. If your squad size was an issue, maybe you shouldn’t have spent £250m on two players.

They banked on being as lucky with injuries as they were last year, and it’s unsurprisingly not paid off.

Just glad we’re at home, but yeah semi-finals will be unoriginal.

I think this commences mid-December. Glad we’re at home but I think going deeper in this competition now, Arteta will likely rotate the squad but with less Hale Enders (Dowman/Annous) involved.

I actually think Brentford have it in them to cause an upset against the blue mancs.

We could even have Jesus back then. This excites. Pointless doing this as we have no idea who could be available but fuck it:

Kepa

White

Saliba

Gabriel

Hincapie

Norgaard

Merino

Odegaard

Madueke

Havertz

Jesus

If fit, you could easily fling in MLS, Mosquerra or Nwaneri

Palace actually have a Conference League game scheduled the Thursday of the week the next Carabao Cup round is supposed to take place.

I don’t know what happens in this situation. It seems possible our tie could get moved to the following week, like December 23rd or 24th.

This is so unfair on them and I approve

City are the best team we’ve played this season.

That’s a joke

No one who starts in the game against Everton 2 days earlier should start against Palace. Full scale changes and we’ve got the squad to make that happen

Surely our game against Everton gets moved to Saturday? Right?

that game has been selected for tv, so unlikely to happen
