We’re not mad, just disappointed. ![]()
This is nothing to the number of people writing Bergkamp off after 3 months at the time.
Struggle finding many admit this now. Usually Rioch cops all the blame now.
He is so fucking likeable ![]()
I think from two seasons ago he had two little things about him that were required to be an all time great (assuming longevity), consistency and end product, he’s checked every box besides those two. I think his consistency is improved now by the looks of it. A tad better end product and that’s it. Fantastic talent.
I don’t think he’s ever said a swear word in his life, too, apart from “mittens”
Those goals against Southampton to really announce his arrival ![]()
Southampton seems to be a good opponent for iconic strikers
Think he’s announced himself on the world stage now. I can imagine I’m the pre match build up worldwide, Saka gets a fair bit of feature time.
Safe to say he is England’s first choice winger now.
I’m glad he played a good game overall last night and that any ire thrown at a potential scapegoat (Kane) is steered away from him.
It seems like there is an eagerness in the Arsenal team to get things going again in the PL and having a glum Saka may have been something we would have to deal with. I think he can hold his head high after this tournament though and hopefully this form rolls straight back into the business side of Arsenal’s ambitions for the season.
Careful he will demand to run his fingers through your hair!! Punishment for you…divine for him!!
I just love this guy so much. And he’s far more polite than I was when I met Beckham. I practically jumped him ![]()
Well he did look knackered just before he came off but as I was trying to tell people in the pub, we see that every week for Arsenal, he looks knackered then pulls something out of nowhere, a goal/assist and he just keeps going.
Glad for our sake Southgate thought he was done but clearly he doesn’t watch enough Arsenal games.
After the criticism he got, it will be interesting to see how the media treat Saka now he’s considered the best England player and if Kane get’s the same treatment Saka did, when he missed a penalty.
Were the media that hard on Saka?
It felt like it was the psychos on Twitter more than anything
You’re right, It was mainly social media that criticised Saka, although the tabloids didn’t really do much to defend him, Sancho or Rashford.
I’m probably also thinking of the way they treated Sterling in previous seasons.
Saka’s so nice that Media cunts know that they would be wasting their time trying to demonise him like they did with Sterling.
Beckham should be politely asking him for a photo
Yeah the social media pit of trolls keep giving, especially from a racism angle.
I saw a friend share a post on insta from somebody who compared comment rections received by Kane and by Saka after they posted after the match.
The post said that one was the best player on the pitch (Saka) and the other one cost England in the game (Kane)… yet Saka still somehow got attacked with racist stuff (which I didn’t read). Goes to show that it doesn’t matter what is done on the pitch, there will still be the most stupid people imaginable out there after a game is lost.
Saka seems the most popular English player though with the fanbase overall, constantly receives love and accolades to drown other stuff out
I do wonder how many of those accounts giving out grief on social media are real people.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a decent amount of them are bots being organised by someone trying to stir up shit and divide people.
Didn’t hear Mbappe’s name all game but yet his match rating is higher than a man who won a penalty for the goal…
