Bryan Mbeumo

He plays very heavily on the right, we just don’t need that kind of player.

His goal and xg stats also strongly suggest this year was an anomaly in terms of goal scoring. He has scored below his xg over the course of his career up to last year, suggesting a poor overall finisher. Then this year he banged 15 non-penalty goals on a non-penalty xg of 7.5. That looks like a massive purple patch, not his level at all.

Honestly, I would bet on Nwaneri being a better player over the next 2-3 years.

Yes. Our first team needs improving as in the starting 11. I’m not convinced that Mbeumo on the bench is better than having Trossard on the bench. Martinelli, Havertz, Trossard and a barely-able-bodied Jesus are good rotation players. We need a top class forward. Mbeumo isn’t this.

Lol

Going into next season with Mbuemo and Cunha in attack is a significant upgrade on the dross they put out this season.

Amad, Cunha, Mbuemo, Zirzkee (he’s much better than he’s shown himself to be so far) isn’t too bad.

Garnacho is obviously on his way out and you imagine Bruno will be sold to pay for these deals. They’ll probably bring in £140-150m in transfer fees for the pair of them.

Suits Amorims system but I don’t necessarily think he can reproduce the season he’s just had, really seemed like an outlier for him

Who knows how long Amorim will be there though but they’re at least signing good players instead of the crap they’ve generally had

Still huge issues in midfield, defence and GK though

Also who else was really in for him lol, United were given a free run at both Cunha and Mbeumo

United recruiting internally in the Premier League so far.

I imagine United are offering higher wages than Newcastle, who still can’t really afford to pay 200k per week to players outside their biggest stars. Probably a good thing as he would have fit in well with Gordon and Isak on that front line.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Bruno deal is already sealed and United is trying to lock down some incomings first.

Overall, I think he’s a good player but probably overrated right now due to a purple patch season. When you’re trying to improve on players like Hojlund, Mount, and Zirkzee in the front three the only way to go is up.

If United add Gyokeres ahead of Mbuemo and Cunha I’ll flip out.

That potentially a very lethal high level front three if they get the wing backs right

To me that’s a very dangerous front three for a team trying to play a lot of transitional and counter-attacking football but not the group you want if you need to break down an organized defense. I think it would put United right back into the top 6-7 conversation but not really a group to threaten the top of the table. But maybe that’s fine given where they are right now.

They are a shambles until they prove otherwise on the field.

Lose their first game and Amorin will be giving interviews about how bad they are the whole of the following week.

It’s quite unsettling how aggressive United have been this early in the window. They’re already on the brink of signing two very good attackers.

Internal monologue: “It’s still early… still early. It’s only June. Trust Berta.”

Quite nasty how they flopped in Europa and Bruno leaving is going to help them regardless

I’d like to see early business but I see no reason to panic yet. United in the purest sense can and need to upgrade everywhere. Many players they’ll be linked too will be an improvement (on paper) by default.

I’m getting a little worried about how everyone is strengthening.

Feels like this is now or never for our core group of players to win something.

we will be as well

United won’t do anything til they replace their entire midfield.

Big fee for aging Bruno but he’s still the only one who gave them any output. Cunha and mbuemo will cost every penny they get and struggle to match the Bruno influence.

Then you’ve got trash behind them and trash up top.

Will do well at Utd if that’s where he ends up. Think he could have done a job for us as rotation/backup for Saka, but would help Utd consolidate a higher league position. Probably not the player they need to get them into a CL place, but will be part of that interim step to move them back up the league.

Sure, he favours a team not playing in Europe next season, which is in turmoil, with a big question mark on its prospects next season.

He would jump at the opportunity to play for us or Newcastle, if we were interested.
