I can say 9 people out of 10 would agree with this
Walk with me:
- Sesko in for Jesus.
- Mbeumo in for Trossard.
- Williams in for Sterling.
This wouldn’t be bad for attacking depth:
Williams/Martinelli-Havertz/Sesko-Saka/Mbeumo
Replace Sesko with The Gyok and we’re golden!
If that implies Havertz still being the starting striker then we really are doing it all wrong
Getting Isak from Newcastle will be tough.
Mbeumo is an interesting option and with one year left on his deal, we could secure him for a good fee. I haven’t followed him that closely, but know he plays right wing. Is he versatile or would he just be backup/rotation for Saka?
I agree with your outgoings, but I’d want Rodrygo ahead of Williams. My ideal would be Sesko, Rodrygo and Williams, but I wouldn’t be adverse to Mbeumo given he is now PL proven. I also still like Semenyo.
Rodrygo and Williams would be way too expensive.
Mbeumo and Williams is the most feasible if you go for two wide forwards.
Mbuemo doesn’t fit this team
It’s a non-starter because he simply wouldn’t be the same player here
Esplain
Where do you want him to play?
He’s a right sided player and is no striker
He is either utilised on the right or in a two, neither of which is on the agenda here for obvious reasons
And to get in the granular stuff we don’t need more left footed players, he wouldn’t be the same player on the left and additionally I want a 1 v 1 specialist on our left side with more athleticism.
This isn’t what we need IMO
What about Rodrygo and Mbeumo? (I know you like Williams, but his wages would be high).
We still need a backup for Saka…unless you would prefer to use Martinelli here and sign Trossard up to a new deal?
You’ve forgotten about Nwaneri then?
There’s a lot of depth and quality but I’d prefer Gyokeres, although Arteta would have to work out how to get them to play in a forward line with Saka.
If he could get them playing together there certainly wouldn’t be a lack of goals and possibly the best attacking options in the PL.
Rodrygo will cost too much to allow for any more investment in another wide forward.
Now Liverpool secured Wirtz, Bayern and City will be in the mix for Rodrygo too.
Do you see a role in the team next season for him then?
I mean if that isn’t his role at bare minimum then he should reconsider signing that new contract
I think Nwaneri has a big future at the club and I think he will sign a big deal. However, I think there is a debate to be had as to whether he is ready to have an impact on the team and a title challenge next season, or if we send him out on loan. Applying your logic for Gyokeres, being ‘ready’ to make an impact, I think we need to prioritise a third attacking signing and send Nwaneri out on loan for the season.
I don’t think that makes sense considering what he was able to do last season in limited appearances
Nwaneri out on loan shouldn’t be happening.
Hmmm, why not? Sounds better than Arteta playing him seven times next season at least lol.
If Arteta is barely playing him then dude needs to consider his future
Maybe he already is, who knows
I just don’t see why he can’t fulfil the Saka backup role at the very least, even today he played quite well despite limited game time in recent months
