Bryan Mbeumo

Not bad, 25 G/As in 37 games is an excellent return.

He’s a RW right? Guess he’d probs be used on the left to start ahead of Martinelli from the looks of things.

Counter attack player lacking technical quality, great.

If true, he’d be backup or rotation for Saka.

Dont think he lacks so much in techinal aspect but he isn’t a great athlete also predominatly utilised on the right or in a two

Not a fit at all

Don’t disagree. Personally, if we are going with a PL proven player I’d opt for Semenyo. Better player and can play either wing.

For the sake of discussion, I think Mbeumo would’ve made sense in January when we were desperate.

Would’ve been immediate top quality cover in the absence of Saka and has the capacity to be that long-term 4th versatile attacker like Trossard.

I don’t think he makes a lot of sense now. Saka is back and Nwaneri has proved to be an adequate cover for him.
His contract situation could potentially mean that he’s available for a lower price but my fear would be that a move for him essentially takes up the spot for an incoming forward.

surely that’d depend on the fee though? If this board are unprepared to lay out £275m this summer, they should get out.

He’s scored his 19th EPL goal today btw, far more prolific than our lot. Though I wished he was an LW instead of RW.

Still only 25 as well.

I’m not talking about budget. I’m talking about spots in attack.

I don’t see us signing 3 forwards this summer. I think Mbeumo would essentially fill the spot of one of the two potential incoming forwards.

Unless of course there’s an expectation that we’ll be moving on multiple forwards this summer.
Maybe Jesus comes back from his injury in time to move out?

Damn, he just missed a pen lol

About time with that funky run up

That’s my thoughts too. There’s no way that all of Kai, Trossard, Martinelli, Jesus will be staying much longer.

I think two of them will be gone within 12 months. Trossard and Jesus most likely.

Something that I haven’t thought about is how the World Cup affects our players too.

I’ve mainly thought about how it would affect our targets but I could definitely see someone like Jesus wanting to move this summer if possible so he can give himself the best chance of getting into the World Cup squad next summer.

Didnt realise Mbuemo was final year contract. Half the league will be after him.

He’s the most obvious slam dunk for Newcastle, and would’ve been the most obvious slam dunk Salah replacement for Liverpool.

A Newcastle forward line of Gordon-Isak-Mbeumo would be dangerous.

I don’t think he’d make the step up tbh.

You’re such a jinx man, he missed his first ever penalty to make it 20.

hehe, I heard his run up was ridiculous

That’s a good shout Makes some sense for them

Liverpool? Nah, lol

Well, not anymore for sure.
